Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

...are you not able to enjoy diving into a game without knowing what's going to happen? Or do you watch all the let's plays on youtube so you have the game memorized before you even buy it?
They literally showed nothing. The game costs 70 bucks, I would like to know what is actually included in the purchase. I generally like to know what I'm paying for.

...you're paying for a Zelda game.
A Zelda game that looks to be about the same as BOTW, except YOU CAN GO IN THE SKY NOW, OOOOOOH. LOOK, CRAFTING, PLEASE CONSOOM! Even Majora's Mask, despite being built on OoT's engine, was significantly different enough from said game to warrant the purchase, and it cost the same price at launch as OoT did to boot ($59.99). So far, we've seen nothing that warrants ToTK's $10 price increase over BOTW. There's building mystique around a game (another factor at which MM excelled), and then there's showing way too little.

This shit gonna get hyped to moon and back, and I am all for it. Either it will be great, fun and even get some announcements, or it will be fucking nothing and online fags will get so butthurt it'll be fun. Whatever happens, we win.

I genuinely think we are on the verge of a Switch 2, but don't know if I can take another round of "leaks" like Switch Pro.
Nintendo did use Zelda BOTW to establish the specifications they wanted from the Switch, it wouldn't be unreasonable to assume that TOTK will be used to define the specifications of the next console. I'm sure they found that releasing the game on two consoles was insanely profitable as many people bought copies for both, but I don't know enough.

If they have a game that dictates the minimum specs I don't think that'll game be TOTK. Mario is due for a new game and has been mysteriously silent.

I want a new proper successor to Thousand Year Door, but I'm not sure what I'd want in a new Mario entry.

Theres no way it gets announced before the Holiday sales period.

We might even get good rumors or even a legit eyrogamer/Jason Scrier reveal!
I would be happy if we got a soft launch to reduce scalping, if that's ever possible. i wanted to get the TOTK collectors edition but it's basically impossible, so I'm getting the digital edition

Last few years it more seems like Nintendo actively likes scalping and fomo.

which is around $160 in 2023 dollars.
Excuse my retardation but I don't get when people make statements like this, as if to say games back then were much more expensive than games now, therfore it's justified. Because you know in about 10-20 more years people are going to make the same argument about current video game prices now when the next inflation hits. It doesn't matter, $59.99/$49.99/$69.99 etc, prices were still expensive back then as it is now. The only difference is BOTH the quality and quanity of the games themselves have taken a HUGE nosedive over the years, and companies, even to this day, fight like hell to justify taking more of the consumer's money with shit like blueprints, expansion packs, etc...

If anything, it's justified that people are being cautious about how they spend their money when it comes to vidya. Time and time again there have been numerous track records of people buying full priced games only to be slapped in the face or given an I.O.U because said games are either missing features (or just outright removing them because reasons) or just outright broken due to short development times or just sheer incompetence.

Very glad that the concept of in-person video game events isn't being abandoned entirely with the death of e3; looking forward to this
Also ditto what you said lol it's a win-win either way
