Ukrainian Defensive War against the Russian Invasion - Mark IV: The Partitioning of Discussion

Very likely. SoF aren't Space Marines. 97 perssonel across several different organizations wouldn't do much. These guys probably aren't even allowed to travel East and are a a few hours drive away from Poland and are just training Ukies up on western technologies and tactics.

This is going to sound a bit "uncle who works for Nintendo" but i know a guy who is in the British army who is currently stationed in Poland training Ukie soldiers to deal with IEDs and other bomb disposal stuff.

They are mostly providing training and intel but that isn't to say that a few of them don't provide more hands-on assistance in certain circumstances.

Is it just the UK doing troop training programs?
Also apple.
I'm certain US Special Forces Operational Detachment-Alpha teams are doing training with their Ukrainian counterparts, presumably in Poland or the Baltic countries if they aren't operating in Ukraine already.

10th Special Forces group was created for this very type of mission, focusing on Europe and operating "by, with, and through" a friendly military or local partisans.

How does it make you feel to see foreign vatnik spergs crowing about how wonderful the tyranny you have to endure is from the comfort and freedom of America? Must be infuriating.
It's rather weird to see Americans of all people to come out in support of the totalitarian regime. One would think they'd oppose it in principle. "Enemy of my enemy is my friend" is not a universal axiom, sometimes it just means another enemy. Contrarian brainrot made these people go full circle to the point that they're stepping on their own dicks. That I find to be somewhat amusing.

Regarding the supposed NATO special forces on the ground in Ukraine, does it state that they're there under official orders or not? Because there's quite a few of Western volunteers who's ex-SF, the question is whether they're just trying to keep track of everyone who went to Ukraine on their own accord or if they were deliberately sent there. Worth noting that it wouldn't be hard to disguise them as volunteers I guess, but the ones I'm talking about usually tend to act too randomly for it to be a coordinated effort (like fucking around until they find a unit that takes them in and just do whatever is asked of them, I don't see this as something foreign MoD would sanction as it's not an effective use of their assets). I assume it's mostly for training local guys.
It would be hilarious if Russian propaganda latches onto this, pointing at it and shouting while foaming at the mouth "Look, we were right!", with their claims being ~10k NATO officers and whatnot, while their entire war effort is being fucked over by just 100 guys :story:

After the beheading video I got this shitty feeling so I tried to reach my brother in Ukraine to make sure he was fine, and luckily he is. He said something interesting when we were talking about the war: "This will be over by the summer", which I mentally rated :optimistic:. Likely wishful thinking, because everyone is tired and want this to be over, but there has to be factual basis for it, otherwise he wouldn't have said it. He's secretive about what they're doing, obviously he's not allowed to talk about it which is what he told me. And the last time we talked before that, he mentioned constant drills and exercises, learning new stuff such as weapon systems and disarming explosives. My assumption now is that spring offensive is almost certainly happening.
I mostly ignored the talk about it in this thread so far, because it was for the most just a speculation, kind of like taking of Bakhmut that's always 2 weeks away. But now I'm pretty confident about it.

Speaking of Bakhmut, saw my coworker browsing this earlier today: https://www.yaplakal.com/forum28/topic2600148.html

It's drone footage of ruined Bakhmut. One of the first comments said "Odessa next", and I chuckled for two reasons: First of all, in your dreams, faggot. Secondly, next what? Next to be turned into ruins, where once a prospering city used to be?
Russkiy mir in a nutshell, folks.
Another comment says "Donetsk was bombed for 8 years, how come it doesn't look like Bakhmut today" - that's pretty funny, also true.

Jesus, this really is a Brother War for you. Sorry you have to go through all this shit bro.

My guess is they are there to advise and observe on the ground, rather than doing sneaky operations against the Russians. 97 special forces dudes can do some stuff, but not much to change the course of the war. In Afghanistan there were 500 British special forces alone and that was a lower intensity conflict.

Whereas this war is a phenomenal opportunity for Western nations to learn how a near peer adversary like Russia operates and performs in a conventional war, so it's a no-brainer to send a small number of guys in to study the battlefield and see how Russian equipment and doctrine actually performs in reality.

Of course it's not good to have it confirmed in the open. It's not going to start a nuclear war, anymore than Soviet special forces operating in Vietnam did, but it will aid Kremlin propaganda about this being a war between Russia and NATO, as absurd as 97 dudes constituting a war against Russia obviously is.
That's about how many "advisors" were first sent to Vietnam. You know, just to observe and advise. How'd that turn out?

In this situation the Russians are the US in Vietnam as they started by sending SOF troops incognito to puppet states in Ukr territories back in 2014. I agree this war is handling just as bad for Russia as Vietnam did for the United States.

I'm not the one in the trenches, but I appreciate the sentiment. It helps that the situation is so absurd that it doesn't quite feel real even now, sort of lessening the impact.

"Beheadings have overfulfilled norms by 400%, the failing West cannot match the beheading power of the global south led by the BRICS joined together in the Belt and Road"
You forgot babbling about straussian neocons and unfathomably autistic attempts to make boomer pop culture references along with lecherous creeper comments about how sexy he finds leathery old hagwhores like zakharova

Also sadly escobar has yet to receive the party line and thus no attempt to justify, deny, or pretend it was acthcully ukraine who dun did it, but his fellow fringe schizo Declan Hayes I mentioned before has shat this cope piece out to tide us over

Gerasimov must finish the Ukrainian war on Russia’s terms and then he must turn his attention to Finland, Declan Hayes writes.

Though Russian general Valery Gerasimov has some very hard and immediate choices to make, this is what he has been training for his entire life. First off, Gerasimov must finish the Ukrainian war on Russia’s terms and then he must turn his attention to Finland, as well as to the NATO fifth columnists operating throughout Russia itself. Then there are also the pimple Baltic states, Poland and similar nuisances to deal with in the short, medium and longer terms.
So we start with the same "military that has failed to take a medium size town after a year of throwing everything it has at it and has been pushed back by a supposedly exponentially weaker country again and again and failed to advance beyond a salt mine during its entire winter offensive is totally gonna effortlessly conquer and subjugate all of eastern europe and finland" spiel that has become a meme since last spring.

Though Gerasimov knows all of this, he is keeping his opinions very much to himself. If the maxim to beware the silent man is to be personified, it takes flesh in the buttoned lips of Valery Gerasimov, author of the Gerasimov doctrine, Chief of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and commander of all Russian forces in Ukraine and contiguous countries. Not a man to be trifled with!
Ya know it really is amazing how the most underwhelming and mediocre functionaries of a barely functional shithole like russia are able to get such a wide array of balding boomer schizos to openly coom for them solely by dint of their position in said shitheap. Its like worshipping someone for being the head security officer at a fucking bowling alley

First cab off the rank is Ukraine. When the mud and the fog of war both clear, Gerasimov must hit Zelensky’s rump Reich so hard, either on attack or counter-attack, that Ukraine’s defeat will become as much a byword as Paulus’ Stalingrad defeat or Napoleon’s end at Waterloo. Those Ukrainians, who were at the heart of the rump Reich must pay the same price their Bandera pin-up boy paid on 15 October 1959. None of this must end well for them.
Oh well if its as easy as simply "winning" then im sure russia will....again....have this all wrapped up in days

Far from being revenge, this is to send a blunt message to the Banderites that their actions against the culture, religion, language and even Christian names of Russians have consequences, none of which will be to the liking of the rump Reich’s resident Nazis. Provoke the bear, get mauled by the claws, by the land, air and sea forces Gerasimov has at his disposal.
Notice how even the most unironically schizophrenic russia shill is unable to think of a justification for the invasion beyond Ukraine making its official language Ukrainian and no longer emphasising russian and russian culture as the bestest and most specialist language and culture there is

Then there is Russia’s significant fifth columnists, who must be stamped underfoot like a discarded cigarette butt. The Russian authorities should take a leaf out of Uncle Sam’s Iraqi play-book and issue a deck of cards with their most wanted, dead or alive, on them. These fivers, such as those complicit in the murder of Darina Dugina, must know that they and theirs will get no peace this side of the grave. Do the crime, do the time!
Ya know it is rather notable how frequently I am seeing "EXTERMINATE ALL TRAITORS TO RUSSIA" pop up in the russia shill sphere as of late

On the subject of MI6 agents working in Russia, consider this BBC news report which claims that the confession of Darya Trepova to complicity in Tatarsky’s murder was “most likely recorded under duress.” How can MI5’s main propaganda outlet make that outlandish supposition in what is supposed to be a news, not an opinion, piece? Although MI5 are no strangers to kicking confessions out of both the innocent and the guilty, as Trepova brought the statue masking the bomb to the cafe, she is undoubtedly a person of interest to the inquiry into the murder of Tatarsky, a murder that is a source of amusement and not horror to MI5’s other media outlets.
Example no.201293 of "Manlet demanding the mass slaughter of all foreign and domestic enemies of the third world counrty he simps for being outraged the other side is shooting back"

Although MI5, like their Banderite stooges in Kiev, like to mock their victims, remember they are doing this at a time when the Wall St Journal’s Evan Gershkovich, whose “parents fled the Soviet Union” but who “fell in love with Russia” is on trial, hopefully for his life, on espionage and other terror-linked charges in Russia. Although it is not my place, or that of the BBC, the Wall St Journal or any other CIA outlet to give the Russian judiciary advice on those or any other terrorist-related cases, Russia must send out a clear message that fifth columnists and all associated with them will pay their dues if caught.
Literal and proud traitor to the west currently living in the west (when he is not creeping around syian orphanages or being arrested for undisclosed reasons in thailand) thinks traitors should be executed by the state.

Gerasimov must send out a similar message to all of Ukraine’s Banderites, both those at the front but especially those einsatzgruppen who, lacking the mettle to face the Wagner Group on even ground, instead rough up old ladies and older priests in Kiev. Do the crime and you and yours will do the time.
Ending a lease and evicting tenants is now a direlwanger tier war crime, and speaking of dirlewanger....

The Wagner Group are noteworthy as they show that Gerasimov’s orchestra now has a section for asymmetric warfare to complement their other musicians. Gerasimov must get other, similar strings to his bow in both the hot and cold wars.
This really does emphasise how empty this sped's russia shilling is, as he mindlessly screaming adoration for not only the scummiest shit he hears about in relation to russia, but the shit most held in contempt by the russian military he cooms over., solely because its a current buzzword A fucking venereal disease could become a hot topic in relation to russia's invasion and he would spend weeks typing out tearful praises of its majesty.

These further strings would include increased funding for Russia’s sports and arts sectors and sponsorships to bring Chinese, Korean, Japanese and other ballet troupes to Russia to mix it with the masters. Business as usual there to show that, though NATO’s Olympians might savour the shit-strewn boulevards of Paris, Russia has much better fare to offer her children and those of Africa and Asia.
....and this is what I mean when I call him a literal schizophrenic, given how he has gone from demanding mass extermination of ukrainians and the executions of all traitors to a foreign motherland to babbling about how vital it is to bring asian ballet dancers into russia and how africans will love russian streets and how this will defeat NATO somehow.

And in the arms’ field, where mutually beneficial technology and personnel transfers with Chinese, Koreans, and Iranians should be expedited so the curtain can come down that bit quicker on Zelensky’s rump Reich and Gerasimov’s gaze can shift northwards to stop Lake NATO and the direct threat it poses to St Petersburg becoming a reality.
Always fun when a russia shill unintentially makes russia look even more hilariously fucking weak than it is given how he urging the armies of china, north korea, and iran to join on russia's side as quickly as possible, and has been doing so for months

Lake NATO is, of course, the Baltic Sea where the U.S. has encouraged the pimple states of Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia to slap Russia around and for Finland and other countries with major cocaine problems to back them up and, in the process, not only to double the border Russia shares with NATO but to put Russia’s key Kola peninsula in the front line.
Setting aside the irony of a russia shill snarling about other countries having substance abuse problems, this is yet another unintentional jab at how badly russia has fucked itself going forward with this retarded invasion.

Forget that Finland’s rash action totally vindicates Stalin’s defensive moves into the Baltic statelets, eastern Poland and parts of Finland but this must not end well for Finland, whose coke-addled leaders have now sacrificed their own security to keep the bottom line of Uncle Sam’s defence companies and their Nordstream terrorism buoyant. If Finland’s overlords want to play by Big Boys’ Rules, fair enough. Perhaps the Russian navy can invite their Chinese, North Korean and Iranian counterparts to pay courtesy calls to Kaliningrad, Primorsk and Ust-Luga. And even to station observers and more there and in the Arctic as well. Freedom of navigation and all that. Who is to say?
Again....it really doesnt reflect well on russia if the worst it can threaten Finland with is the fucking north korean navy

If the maxim to speak quietly but to carry a big stick is to be personified, it is in the buttoned lips of Valery Gerasimov, Chief of Staff of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces and Sergey Lavrov, Russia’s urbane Foreign Minister, who has lately been flexing his diplomatic muscles in Beijing, where they have a saying to kill the chicken to scare the monkeys. If Ukraine is to be the chicken and the Nordic and Baltic countries are the chattering monkeys, who have no regard for their own welfare well, then, Gerasimov must decide which of them is metaphorically next for the chopping block.
Kinda hard to intimidate a country if the worst you can threaten it with is allowing north korea to park a tugboat vaguely near it

There is another saying that, when the going gets tough, the Russians not only pull in the belt but they eat it as well. Though Gerasimov, Lavrov and their colleagues must make some hard and brutal decisions to stop Russia’s days of fighting the Wehrmacht and La Grand Armée from ever returning, they can have hope. Sergey Naryshkin, the head of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, has declared that NATO’s objective in Ukraine is to obliterate all things Russian. Russia’s leaders, in other words, recognise the existential and, indeed, pathological nature of the threat Russia faces, a threat that can be traced back even far beyond NATO’s criminal attacks on Libya, Iraq, Yugoslavia and a host of other countries too lengthy to adumbrate.
"Good news everyone! Our enemies fucking hate us and want us dead"

Though I am confident all of these latest Biden-inspired squabbles will end to Russia’s advantage, the ball is very much in Gerasimov’s court. When he moves, he must win not only game, set and match but craft this reincarnation of The Great Game so that the world can savour the hard and soft power diplomacy of Lavrov, the Bolshoi Ballet, Kamila Valieva and so many others rather than the pottage of jumped-up crooks Zelensky, Hunter Biden, Ursula von der Leyen and their ilk personify.
Schizo coom aside, where the fuck did Hunter Biden figure into this?!

Mocking the mentally disabled for fun aside, the reason I decided to pick apart this textwall was to examine just how fucking little your typical professional russiaboo needs to keep the copium up. This foetal alcohol corpse lookin motherfuck has nothing beyond empty threats of genocide and the desperate hope the north koreans/iranians/chinks will ride to russia's rescue and yet he is still pushing the same shit he was a year ago, and this is the same accross the board with russia shills.

No matter what happens, no matter what tactical, strategic, geostrategic, existential failures and defeats and routs and humiliations are inflicted on russia by Ukraine on the battlefield and NATO and friends in the geopolitical sphere, russia *will* win because it simply *must* win, and anything that speaks to a different reality is just a minor setback or cunning feint by russia itself. This will never end for them, even if russia goes full fucking warlord era and Ukraine is able to annex its way to the caspian sea in the aftermath.

The total and absolute endsieg will always be coming any moment now, and will be for the rest of their fucking lives.

What are you implying? This isn't Vietnam, the situation is quite different in this regard.
Not that different and Nixon did win the Vietnam War with South Vietnam existing as separate nation. Until he resigned and the congressional democrats cut all U.S. support to South Vietnam. Which had fallen two years later in 1975 after running out of parts and ammunition.

I assume the insinuation was eventual American boots on the ground, which I don't see happening.

New video by Eastory, an amazing history Youtuber who does the maps for World War II in Real Time/Time Ghost, covering the war in the Donbass from the start of the Russian "SMO" until the end of March this year with very detailed maps.

It's rather weird to see Americans of all people to come out in support of the totalitarian regime.
The American Russophiles often believe the American government is a totalitarian regime. This is an outcrop of the common American condition of knowing nothing about the world until America bombs it, then promptly forgetting in a few years. The Russophiles of America don't know what a totalitarian regime looks like.

I agree this war is handling just as bad for Russia as Vietnam did for the United States
I guess don't count your hens before they hatch but it looks way worse for Russia militarily right now. The Vietnam War was very corrosive domestically so maybe Russia pulls ahead there?

Also sadly escobar has yet to receive the party line and thus no attempt to justify, deny, or pretend it was acthcully ukraine who dun did it, but his fellow fringe schizo Declan Hayes I mentioned before has shat this cope piece out to tide us over
Whenever I read things like these sorts of articles I honestly wonder who edited it. What being read through ~1300 words of the same repeated visual imagery and forced use of German and said "Publish!" Congrats brah, you thought of saw somewhere "Rump Reich" and repeated it three times in two paragraphs. Heckin exposed the CIA Nazi plans there!
If the maxim to beware the silent man is to be personified, it takes flesh in the buttoned lips of Valery Gerasimov
He also uses this sentence twice, except he adds "flesh" the first time. It's also the flesh of the lips.
Why the hell is this balding boomer giving stoic character traits to lips?

Imagine thinking that a country doing something eighty years later justifies the Winter War. Finland has been a security concern of Russia for centuries, that's why it's important not to shit so much that the whole neighborhood puts up a stench wall.

Gotta love his only knowledge of Finnish politics is Sanna Marin getting caught clubbing on vacation and flubbing the "Did you do drugs?" question. Something he projects on the entire government for reasons unexplained.
Finland just had an election. The right-wing populist, Euro skeptic, anti immigrant, anti refugee, pro nuclear, and comically anti Swedish party was for joining NATO despite previous positions to the contrary. Almost like pissing on the treaty of Helsinki was bad form.

I assume the insinuation was eventual American boots on the ground, which I don't see happening.
From a purely cynical real politik viewpoint the current state of affairs is wonderful for American Grand Strategy. One of its greatest strategic rivals is getting shredded in a war of choice against a minor power. Thousands of tanks and APCs lost. Dozens of Fixed Wing and rotary aircraft, countless trucks, irreversible losses in the elite contractnick formations and even a few warships. More damage has been done to the Russian Military in 1 year then the entirety of the Soviet-Afghan war. Russia has blown out everything the Soviet Empire left behind. Intervening directly would ruin a good thing.

The assholes in Washington probably want this to go on even longer.

That's not even counting leverage that USA has gained on European energy markets.

As they should, the weaker Russia is the more we can focus resources on China. Also alot of the kit we're sending them like Javelins, Stingers and old Bradley variants won't be useful in a war against China anyway and some of it like Stingers was rapidly aging out of usefulness on the modern battlefield anyway, so we get to get rid of storage of useless stuff while reducing the threat from a rival. Win/Win/Win.
