Resident Evil - Virgin Vampire Wine Mom vs Chad Magnetic Lebowski

Played through the game twice now and honestly I enjoyed it a lot, certainly a lot more than I was expecting considering the expectations I had going in. I'd write a ten page essay about it but most of the criticisms said here are about the same as mine.

Since Krauser is a topic of discussion at the moment I'll say that I originally didn't like his new voice but it's grown on me over time. I still vastly prefer his original voice but the actor does a good enough job with him. I felt the way they handled his character was also a mixed bag, while I'm glad they had his story tie more into what happened in Darkside Chronicles I felt they went too far in that direction and now it seems to be his entire character rather than just a part of it. At least he has the back and forth with Leon to make up for it.

As an aside Mercenaries is very fun and has the same arcade feel I was hoping it would have but man is it way too easy to get high ranks on them, I got S+ ranks on all 3 stages on my first try and I'm not even that good, makes unlocking the Handcannon feel a lot less satisfying this time around.

Oh god. They're using the same ugly model of Claire from the last film. They finally unite the protagonists of the first two games and it's complete schlock.
I'm no movie producer on the level of folks that help produce such fine cinema as this, but I'd think they'd want something like continuity/consistency with the recently released videos games. You know, considering these are movies about video game characters. Plus why wouldn't they want the more attractive Claire? We all know no matter what, Leon ain't fucking her.

Almost every film they've done is bad, but I had thought the first three had a charm. Degeneration felt like it could have been a game with how it was structured and it was nice seeing G return after a long layoff.

I don't know what they're going with these models. Leon and Claire literally had the same face in the last one with different hair. This appears to be no different and Claire looks to be exactly the same model they used in that one. Claire has been uggo with everything post Darkside Chronicles.

From what I understand, Javier was originally an operation he took with Leon that ultimately cost Krauser his arm, and his career. He became infatuated with the effects of...something (not sure if it was a Plaga or virus derivative), and ultimately signed on with Wesker.

"New" Javier was some sort of anti-Thing operation (cartels, I think?). It didn't involve Leon, but Krauser lost all his men due to political fuckery preventing an extraction. He independently went off the deep end, but there's no indication he's working with Wesker this time around, and is a legitimately respected member of Los Illuminados.

Na, the reporter's story was incomplete with him assuming political infighting was the reason they weren't extracted. In reality the cartels were massing an army of B.O.W. to use against Communists operating in the area (who were probably also their competition in the drug trade because that's how South American Communists roll), and Leon, Krauser, and the rest of their special unit was sent in to eliminate them all. Naturally most of them get killed because BOW's are even nastier and more merciless than sicarios. Krauser even calls out everyone being killed during the knife fight as the reason why he went evil. To him good and evil, human and inhuman don't matter when its kill or be killed.
What are they, just retconning content wholesale now? That's not how Operation Javier went down. Leon and Krauser were the only soldiers sent in. Krauser lost the use of his arm during the operation, forcing him into early retirement. There was no fight between Cartels and Communists. It was one insane drug lord who used the T-Veronica virus and T-Virus to try to save his wife and daughter from another disease. The daughter, who got the first virus, lived, while the wife, who got the T-Virus, was mutated into monster by it. The daughter, horrified by what had happened, fled her father, and the latter caused a viral outbreak and released B.O.W.s as revenge, leading to the U.S. sending Leon and Krauser. The daughter helps Leon and Krauser kill her father after the latter two kill her mother, and they all escape. After he was discharged by the military, Krauser sought Wesker out, as he had heard the name from Leon himself, and went to Wesker in order to regain control over his arm and was working with Wesker to spy on the Los Illuminados.

Little side note to the whole Krauser discussion. In the remake, Leon mentions Krauser's arm injury during the fight with him, he says something like "do you need to take a break, your arm must be killing you". So I assume it's either a little nod toward the original reason why Krauser flips out OR we'll see something in potential future DLCs.

There is no way they're going to make a Darkside DLC. It's just not happening. I don't know why it's even being entertained that lazy capcom would do such a thing. They're not going to develop brand new assets. You're getting Separate Ways and that's it.
it's called the RE Engine for a reason.

REpurpose
REcycle
REuse

eliminate all unnecessary expenditures.

Hey, there's serious untapped asset-flipping potential to be found in Operation Javier! They can even reuse the voice lines from the spanish villagers!

i am getting sick of seeing new re4 ashley model everywhere. Can the coomers please stop posting her? i get it she is hot and all but damn rn gaming forums are being mega cringe these past few weeks.

I watched a couple minutes of Synthetic Man's review. Really the biggest problem with the game is the actual gameplay mechanics feeling like shit. He put it perfectly. 2make gameplay doesn't work in an action game.

I don't know how many times the game just eats my inputs.
Sorry to hear that, though I appreciate hearing it from someone who has played the game extensively. The gameplay mechanics sounded like the best thing this game had going for it considering all the other problems. I guess novelty itself is RE4 remake's strongest point, and that seems to be fading fast. I guess this game is more for people with some excess money who are looking for something just different enough to hold their attention. In the end, that's what a lot of entertainment is these days anyway.

Last link isn't loading on here for some reason, so just click the broken link to see it.
Personal opinion: Leon looks so much better in the CG movies. I just can't take remade Leon's face seriously. The way it's designed to cast more dramatic shadows smacks of try-hard, and his more "serious" personality doesn't help.

I wouldn't let the gameplay to dishearten you. It's just it feels like you're constantly fighting with the game to be under your control. But don't expect the snappy, fast responsiveness the original had. For the most part, it plays well enough but there's key areas like Water Hall where it's agony because it feels so shitty to play and it doesn't help that Ashley's AI is the worst partner AI in the entire series.

It'll just take you a really long time to get muscle memory for it's bullshit, and even then you'll still notice it's shitty but not as bad. It was stated that Leon feels heavy as shit in this, and that's true since inertia affects every movement you do. The reticle bloom is incredibly frustrating. You think you're point blank on a head, and then it misses. If every gun had lasers, it would alleviate a lot of headache.

I mentioned before but the original is built around the player. This, is the player built around the game.

I don't necessarily hate 2make Leon's face. But I hated his chocolate wig. He doesn't look right as 4make Leon imo. OG Leon was more broadly built and had more of a stern and chiseled face. In this, he's too boyish, yet has forehead wrinkles in his mid to late 20s. It's odd.

What the fuck are these two saying lmao, is it the same dialogue as the original or is there some new, 100% canon Islamic lore added as well? Somebody please translate, I am terribly curious.
Its basically the same dialog about leon slowly becoming infected by the plaga but in arabic. The rabbithole doesnt end here since there are MULTIPLE versions of arabic re4 but in different accents and btw leon is only dubbed everyone else isn't aside from the dub i showed
this ones different in that its a parody dub ( but that autotune though ).
