Just for the sake of reminiscence, I took a look at google maps of the rental and the trailers. Since I've been catching up on the thread and I haven't seen them posted in a while, I'll post some pictures for you gals. The trailer address is grown over with trees so there's not much to see, but I just thought it was funny that you can see the tarp on the rental roof.


A rotten porch sporting half a dozen cat litter containers with a rotten couch.


If someone would like to zoom in and take a few more detailed photos, feel free, but it's not pretty. The house looks run down with shingles and paint falling off, the garage is falling apart and full of junk with the door wide open, and plants in the pots out front are all dead. What happened to the garden Joh was slaving over? Completely abandoned. The house is being overgrown with moss and it looks derelict. I looked around the neighborhood a bit and Polissa's neighbors seem to have no problem making their houses look presentable. The Campbells are single-handedly tanking the property values around them and I'm sure the locals are pissed.

In my absence I'm sure there are things I've missed, but the "donations" of flooring are probably being dumped in that garage by the look of it, to be taken to Tub Trumpet Trailer when Pissa finally gets around to fixing it up (never). There are plywood sheets shoved into whatever crevices they'll fit in between all the other junk in there, that's probably what that's for.

I honestly think it's a good purchase given that she's in a natural disaster prone area and electricity gets cut on a semi regular basis, both because of said disasters and because they keep refusing to pay their bills. However, you're right; she'll use it once and it'll be shoved in a corner somewhere to gather mould and cat hair. She would have been better off saving the cash and waiting for a cheap machine to be posted online.

I swear the place looked better when the previous tenants stored a shopping cart in the garage. Most low income people will try to make their houses look presentable even if they can't afford a new roof, like maintain the lawn or paint the sides. It looks like the crack house that Polissa claims that it was before she moved in. Hoarded houses are like that.

I think that's the main caveat to me. It would be more useful to her if she actually used it more than once. But she won't. It'd be cheaper and more useful for her to wait on Facebook Marketplace for a new washer and just go to the laundromat, Robin's place, or bucket it until then.

My current dryer was a Facebook Marketplace find. A family was moving out of state and could not bring it, so they sold it to me for $50. My sister's first washer was a similar situation for a similar price.
