To the surprise of no one it turns out that the DNC are the ones who massively use bots and social media fake news to booster their shit. It would seem that Obama's 2008 strategy of tapping into the internet and social media as the new place for american political slap fights was thoroughly embraced by them while the GOP was stuck in Neocon hell and Bush shit.

The WaPo article actually does mention something that hints at how some weekend soldier could have had access to these docs: Intellipedia. It is literally a glowie version of wikipedia, running with wikia style coding and crowfunded intel gathering. Unlike wikipedia though it is closed to only be usable by glowies with logins and likely requires special software to even access the good stuff (Think TOR). It is likely he just used the local base computer with Intellipedia access to perform a small amount of tomfoolery.

Intellilink is typically the homepage that greats you when you open a browser on a sipr or jwics terminal. It also has a Twitter clone and a YouTube clone completely full of kill footage, super fun way to burn time on the taxpayer dime.

Those maps weren't on sipr, which requires a secret clearance. It would be on jwics, and I find it hard to believe he had access to a jwics scif if he isn't intelligence.

These docs were left out in the incorrect area.

“PBS stopped tweeting from our account when we learned of the change and we have no plans to resume at this time,” PBS spokesman Jason Phelps said in an email. “We are continuing to monitor the ever-changing situation closely.”

The spat began after Twitter tagged NPR as “state-affiliated media,” a description it also uses for propaganda accounts from Russia, China and the UK. Twitter later changed the wording to “government-funded media,” but the organization has called the description inaccurate and misleading because it’s a nonprofit group with "editorial independence". I'm not surprised McConnell is retiring. He can probably tell which way the wind is blowing. I say he's currently the second most hated Republican in congress, only behind Mitt Romney. Liz Cheney is already out, and Mitt is going to be close behind. McConnell either "retires with dignity" now or he gets kicked to the curb as well.

Yeah, I think McConnell has worn out the last of his goodwill from blocking Merrick Garland. And the more I think about it, the more I think that block was less about any principled (or even unprincipled) stand, and more because McConnell wanted to try and keep the status quo and knew that Garland was a fuckin' psychopath.

The job requires that applicants complete what the military calls a single-scope background investigation, which is required before being granted a top-secret security clearance.

The unit he is believed to be assigned to, the 102nd Intelligence Wing, is headquartered on Otis Air National Guard Base, which is on Joint Base Cape Cod in Eastern Massachusetts.

It is funny to me how this massive point is being ignored. The docs literally prove that there are literal western soldiers engaging russian troops in battle while under the command of their own nation and not as loaned mercenaries or volunteers or any sort of deflection. Straight up Russia vs Nato shooting war, and no one will mention it.

I think he literally didn't have a plan for being caught and couldn't just flee. Which is stupid, he should have kept a cool 3k in cash and have a plan to fly out if it ever happened. In the news it says he fully expected that "if I am caught they are gonna throw me in Guantanamo and just get rid of me, no trial" to paraphrase which shows he was aware. Maybe he just locked up and froze in panic.
