Both were built around nostalgia for 80's properties.

Both were based on stuff beloved by nerds.

Both had lots of lousy CGI.

Both have lame jokes and a weak script.

Both have a cast of overrated comedians.

Both involve destroying ghosts.

The only difference is that one cast had penises, and the other cast had vaginas.

But it's only OK to call one crap without being smeared as sexists, because reasons.

Soooo let me get this straight... the bad guy sucks... the comedy is awkward at points... the action scenes are a missed opportunity.. . there are a lot of little mistakes... Chris Hemsworth is an overused joke... and the characters deserved a better story... All of this grants an "overall recommended"? Are you mental? Everything good you say is immediately cancelled by two or three bad things. Don't push that misogynist crap. 1% are freaked that the men were swapped for women, the rest of use are fucking pissed because the movie is a beloved classic turned into a fart joke. 3 stars huh? That out of 10? or that out of 5? It blew and you know it, you say it yourself you fakin idiot.

So basically this review amounts to, "this film is terrible but I'm giving it a pass due to it pushing identity politics and the man hate involved".
