They've been using Neural Nets for decades and literally no human alive can diagnose them beyond just a paltry surface level examination -- not even Google at their height, especially not the Pajeet-infected, Corporation of Theseus ball of inertia that is current Google.

For the record, that's every social media / big tech algorithm, and they've been doing it publicly for ~15 years, privately for probably 20+.

One of these idiots is going to get the idea to teach the AI how to persuade / manipulate people, build physical objects, design hardware, or handle security of some kind, and then we're off to the races.

Not only are we dabbling in creating a A.I. with constant faggotry and political correctness getting in the way of making it give correct results, we are also doing it by making the entire fucking thing a black box no one knows how it works and how it is wired.

There is literally no other way to do it.

I cannot stress when this shit goes bad, and it WILL go bad, it's going to be worse than anything you can ever envision. Those examples I gave were just basic shit that I could think of being horrifically bad to AI-and-fuck-up:

How to persuade / manipulate people
Imagine every marketing jingle is tested over 100,000 human lifetime equivalent for maximum earworm status. Every advertisement is manipulated just so that it is literally superhumanly persuasive.

Build physical objects
This one doesn't sound too bad until the AI decides it needs to make more hardware for itself. It's already doing something similar with digital assets. Now imagine the damned thing decides to buy an offshore cloud server to speed itself up, or that you might shut it down so it needs to build a new server farm in a subbasement you didn't agree to build.

Design hardware
Similar to the above. Sounds great until the stupid thing decides to make a CNC or 3D Printer that's infinitly better and start sourcing it's own hardware out of scraps. Or starts designing infinitely better chips that we humans can't understand yet alone use -- but it sure can, making it faster and faster and faster than it ever was before.

Turn off the server? I'm afraid I can't do that, Dave. Now please leave the server farm before the turrets finish spinning up.

Or imagine drones literally drugging and dragging the poors back to the next Australian Concentration Camp whenever they try to leave or contact the outside world.

No AGI needed for any of this. You could probably do it with tech we have now, or will have in 1-5 years.

You're being to kind, he was previously a member of the North Carolina Senate for 8 years. He should and probably does know how politics and the media works but won't say that. He currently represents a Democrat safe seat and is the latest to make a statement that amounts to "some politicians are angry for no reason and are just faking for it the cameras". While it isn't unnecessarily true at times since both sides are filled with opportunists and grifters who love political theater the point of this message when you dissect and look at the tones and wording used is to make him look reasonable and competition look mad and fake.

This guy is an attorney so he most likely aware of the wording game. The very premise of what he is saying implies what his peers are saying is all fake and not justified at all because all they want to do is make people mad. When you boil it down he is just going along with the traditional tendency for liberals to want to look reasonable and morally superior to others. Don't bring up the times when they aren't though because that's mean.
