RWBY - The Hindenburg on which Rooster Teeth rests its hopes, dreams and future

It really is amazing to hear how badly they fucked up the teams reaction to ruby (not) dying in front of them. I mean shit if what I'm hearing is right yang starts smiling and going along like nothing ever happened. That is some infuriatingly tone deaf writing.

Look it's been... What 3 years sense I watched season 6? And I still remember how yang in season 2 talked about how guilty and traumatized she was when she lead ruby into danger as a child.

They expect anyone to just believe yang wouldn't care if her sister was in potentially mortal danger? I got siblings, I know dam well I'd be concerned if they were in trouble let alone fucking committing what appears to be magical suicide.

These writers don't know how to write relationships. Shit they don't even know how to write characters that act like normal human beings half the time. This is supposed to be a world where death is right around the corner and people need to fight to control their emotions or else they could bring death beasts upon them. But suddenly in a world with no grim I'm supposed to believe they would just keep their shit together? Just terrible writing and world building all around.

This only would have worked if there was SOME kind of of denal or desperate hope that she was ok. Something that they need to believe to keep from falling into despair. Acting like nothing is wrong makes everyone look like psychopathic assholes.

It would be fucking hilarious if yang gets more of ( or less!) a reaction to seeing summer then her sister.

Oh and if my math is right Salem is probably destroying the world right now while the gang is in wonderland, what with summer being there this whole time. Don't mind seeing her but jeeze I don't see them living up to any hype in writing her story.

I will be very surprised if they get another season.

Just posted a longass tanget, but in short, M&K write like aliens who are unfamiliar with human customs and relationships. And the funniest thing is how the blind fans just go along with it, like it's the most impactful media since like SH2 or something.
I wonder about the timeline in which RWBY is actually good. Or the one where it ended shortly after Monty died. 'Course there's also the one where it never became reality.

Freaking Jaune, man.

The problem with how Ruby and Jaune are written/treated is that Ruby has the status, powers and importance of a main character, but gets the development of a side/background character, while Jaune gets a ton of development as a character(at least in terms of arcs, personal growth, and traumatic events), but gets the status/powers/importance of a side/background characters.

They’re both one half of a fully developed protagonist and the other half a side joke character.

And now I’m imagining the finalie has them both reborn as one person with fused memories or something and I’m laughing my ass off. “See? It’s a nonbinary character with no true gender who Weiss can hook up with and we can give both ships a conclusion! Now Ruby has depth and Jaune is allowed to win! Aren’t we great writers?”

Well, the Occam's razor explanation here is that Ruby gets no character development because Miles is a shitty writer, and Jaune gets character development because Miles is a shitty writer with a self-insert character.

Given what happens to Jaune throughout the series, does that make Miles a masochist?

No, just a shitty writer who doesn't understand that you don't have to torture you characters to get them to develop...or that you can develop your characters and tell a story at the same time.

"Legal requirements", my ass. These entitled pieces of shit need to grow up and realize that the world doesn't revolve around them. But they never will.

Also, I just realized that the Ruby scene (which was actually kind of funny for how quickly it occurred) will now inspire a new meme.

Did Yang really just stand there and watch her sister die without doing anything? Because if so, that's stupid.

OK, so my only interaction with this thing is playing a bit of the blazblu cross game and enjoying Ruby's kit, watching a couple of episodes of the anime, and peeking into this thread a few times. But I need a detailed timeline.

So, Ruby, supposedly main character, reaches peak stress, blows up at everyone, specifically getting on the dykes faces due to shitty priorities, then ??? and then she drinks the tea of death and everybody is fine with it? How the fuck did they go from "being a leader is hard, oh and shut up dykes" to "neck myself".

Speaking of barbara and arryn. Here’s this tweet

Bullshit.

In Volume 1, Yang was OPENLY gawking at those shirtless guys when it was commented on by Ruby that their Dad wouldn't have exactly approved of being around those dudes.

This is then followed by the discussion over friends and Ruby pointing out that Blake was sitting across from them, not sure if they were friends after that morning encounter before Yang dragged her.

Those eyes were not screaming attracted to you, but more curious.

But sure, planned for ten years all along right?

This show doesn’t really know how to pace. Or structure.

What makes it even funnier is this was just one single episode after the Big Dyke Reveal (I think). So the tonal whiplash of everyone's fine, let's carry on to welp, gotta drink the suicide tea was pretty jarring the first time I saw it.

But hey, Rooster Teeth. This isn't exactly Shakespeare style writing. Though given that they're ripping off Alice in Wonderland, perhaps I should say it isn't Carroll-style writing instead.
