But Danny himself wants to push this romantic notion of the Old West the same way that piracy has this Romanticism tint to it without realizing the realities. There was still law in the Old West thanks to the Sheriff and Marshal systems, the hand of the government was still felt in major settlements. The most common killer wasn't gun duels but as always water borne diseases due to poor sanitation.

That's because the Old West exists in his head as an ideal, not as a reality. He didn't actually study the life of the people in the Old West. Any idiot could've picked up a copy of Red Dead Redemption or studied the dangers of settlement life in the West and figured out that the Old West makes any gang war bullshit in the modern day looks tame. Nor does he want to study the many health hazards that settlers suffered out there.

All because one side wanted their state to allow slavery, and the other side didn't want it so that all the jobs would be left to whites. There's tons of shit in the old West that make inner-city violence today look tame by comparison.

Imagine if, in the next election, the Democrats and Republicans waged open shooting wars with each other to "control the vote". None of this ANTIFA shit where they just smash some stores or homes but then run away when someone responds with a shotgun to their face. As in, they'd be outright killing each other on the streets across party lines, using guns and machetes, so that only their side would be alive to vote one way or another. And imagine that this gets so bad, the Feds don't even try to stop it anymore. They just sit, watch, wait, and whoever's still alive to "vote" is the side they eventually bend the knee to.

That was the Old West in a nutshell. And this is why Razorfist is stupid to think that the Old West wasn't as violent as inner-cities today.
