I like that gunpat is coming back, hopefully Quasi gets his cucked 16'' barrel P90. Also this take is one of those "He could be at least half right if he wasn't a fucking cunt" examples. .22LR is a poor choice for self defense because it's inherently less reliable than a centerfire caliber (though less so than it used to be). Not because it's too weak.".22 has no stopping power at all". -Tacticool Tomlinson, not knowing that .22LR is one of the most commonly-used calibers in homicides.

"Stopping power" differences between handgun calibers are mostly academic, especially when you're shooting someone from a state of rest, almost anything will drop someone who's not ready for it but once adrenaline comes into play, i've heard of people taking full mags of 9mm/.45 and still killing people as dead men walking. Ballistics gel and accelerometers make .22 and mouse calibers look like trash, when you look at actual statistics based on real self defense situations they don't seem to underperform by much, if at all. And the guns are much smaller and easier to carry and conceal.
22 is a great murder caliber because the guns that shoot it are easy to conceal and disposable, but if you're using it for home defense concealment doesn't matter. The guy with the lenin avatar correctly recommends a shotgun as a good and cheap option (his reasoning is also stupid as is not keeping your home defense piece loaded but whatever) but Patrick has to focus on what he can disagree on, and do it in the most obnoxious way possible.
