This is a curious issue because while I'm not familiar with many e-celebs, I can imagine it's essentially the same problem as something like doctors, actors or comedians often dating other doctors, actors and comedians. When your job is outside the normal 9-5 or has a uniqueness to it, it's a lot easier to build a life with someone who understands what it entails.

The problem is that I don't think a lot of these relationships can survive two problems: you've got two massive egos, and you've got a very very quantitative metric as to who is more successful. That's a recipe for abuse, screaming and toxicity.

I've seen it work in entertainment before - but the common denominator has always been a huge degree of professionalism. It can work if you've got a clear separation of your stage and your private persona. The problem with streamers and YouTubers in particular is that it very very often meshes together a lot. Unlike other fields, the parasociality isn't a bug, it's a feature.
