I can’t quote him but couldn’t disagree more with Erwin Rotten.
I'll quote you and just let me know when you refer to me. I don't mind disagreement.
His streams in recent years show more and more unhinged behaviour. You can virtually see him trying to reconcile his ego with where he actually is in life and the side effects of this; usually lashing out at his audience. A simple bus ride alone isn’t fixing this.
The bus ride is to deal with agoraphobia, which is what I was talking about when I mentioned the bus ride. Everything else needs a different solution, and as amazing as it sounds, a well aged ego can actually be subsided with a lot of change in thinking that is possible as long as there isn't any brain inhabitation caused by damage or physical inability. Ego is a nurtured thing, but there tends to be a sort of "trauma" thing attacked to it that causes a lot of people to never reduce the symptoms and habits.
I guess we can compare it to a woman having to stop being a whore after being one their entire life. Like, how the hell can you fix that? Well, most times, you can't, because they can't detect the harm caused by it, social or physical or or mental or spiritual or anything. But sometimes their life requires something new, they become religious, something can influence them to change their way. All they need is a brain that can comprehend the thought, like how a liquid needs a container. Sadly, a lot of people have a brain that resembles a strainer, so they can only hold thoughts that are coagulated with emotional baggage.
I’ll remind you he initially thought the interview went really well. His performance in that was far beyond an opinion. A person would have to be incredibly mentally detached from reality to think this. Even his fans saw it was a car crash. I’m not believing that if he took a few bus rides alone he’d have been more likely to pick up on Adam and Craig’s constant doubtful cues of ‘…Is this REALLY the answer you’re going with, Phil?’.
Phil likes to do this thing where he's in a flaming room and thinks everything is fine. I think that's him hoping nobody notices the flames more than a mental inability. It's a conscious decision instead of an inability to realize the situation. Either way, it comes off as dumb because he's trying to deceive people in a lazy and ineffective way. A lot of people project their mental state by assuming others are the same as them, so he probably thought people would fall for the ignoring of issues thing. He is someone who does that a lot, which is what gets in trouble, because the issues don't go away just because they're ignored.
He’s an egomaniac. He thought The Interview went well because he thought he was smarter than everyone else and had tricked them all. This is a level requiring professional help not a bus ride.
Yes, he's an egomaniac, but one thing that I think sucks is that professional help can't really relieve the symptoms of ego. In fact, a lot of times, help will cause a person to be more tricky with their egotistical deception and mental gymnastics, so professionals have to be careful when dealing with that so they don't reveal too much in how things work.
If anything, he would have to make the conscious choice to at least reduce the power his ego holds, which usually only happens when the body is in danger and can detect the danger. The detecting part is important, because many people are unable to see it since the ego is in the way.
I watched Meerkats stream last night and Phil said he can’t go to the Zoo because detractors would SWAT the zoo. This is creeping into levels of insanity not simple social awkwardness.
Nobody gets a lolcow following as big as Phils by being ‘slightly confused’.
Exactly, that's part of the paranoia and that is a big concern. That one is about his history of dealing with trolls and being "swatted" that one time, when the sheriff stopped by, wielding an assault donut and scared the dickens out of him. And again, that's related the ego, but the weakness in handling issues is also related to being possessed by his anima.
Synchronizing with your anima is possible, it can alleviate a lot of issues he has with acting meek and feeble, but again, the ego gets in the way of detection.
In addition, Mr Rotten is the first detractor I’ve come across that doesn’t think Phils mental situation has been getting worse in recent years. I’m genuinely surprised there’s anyone that thinks he simply needs to ‘get out more’.
I'm not sure where my comment caused the belief that I don't think he's getting worse in general, but I think you got it where I said his vocabulary is not getting worse. His vocabulary and his mental state are two separate subjects.
He does need to get out more, away from the cave to be in the wilderness, but again, that is hindered by ego and anima possession. I guess a more clear way to say it is that he can tackle one issue at a time and the less severe ones are easier to do so. It would take steps. Getting out more is a beneficial step to get the ball rolling.
I think it pretty clear from the clip that Phil uses blaze where he should have been using bland. Again I advise you take a look at the thread about Phil misusing words and phrases and outright inventing them at times.
No, you're right, I had to listen to it more carefully, and he was talking about games, he says they're blasé, and then continues to talk about the games. He could just be switching subjects between what he thinks his fans feel and what the games are, but he's also probably assuming it means uninteresting instead of uninterested.
Honestly, that one is not a big deal, but that does make a word like that something he wants to use but uses wrong. Assuming he didn't change subject in mid sentence.
I'm going to check out more of his mistakes and see if any are severe enough to be concerned, but so far a lot of it is just him mixing some stuff up while on the spot or just switching subjects around.
