I honestly don't think the rat mention was a setup for a cat. Chantel really isn't that smart, she would just get a cat. She flat out said she wanted one. It's far more likely that she really does have sewer rats. Kuwait City is infested with rats and since it's surrounded by inhabitable desert, they're concentrated in human areas. They also notoriously travel through the sewer and drain pipes like a super highway. IIRC wasn't it Salah who brought up the rat thing to begin with? I’m wea, I couldn’t handle more than the first 15 minutes of her live. A few points:
