Nintendo Switch (Currently Plagued) - Here we shit post about the new Nintendo console, The Switch

New trailer for the Xenoblade DLC, comes out next week.

I honestly can't even bring myself to really even care about it. Maybe that discussion would be best had in the currently dead Xenoblade thread?
Do the DLC add anything interesting to the game? I'm five chapters into the main story and I'm not hooked at all. The landscape is nice, story is okay but the characters are bland as fuck.

Its a prequel story that just does world building, like the DLC for 2. I didn't even get past the start of Torna because I just didn't care. I think the DLC added new quests and a challenge mode to the base game, but I haven't played it since I rushed through just the main story when it leaked a week early. I'm not a big fan of the 'modern' xenoblade entries, I'll play this DLC since at this point I'm obligated to, but I'm just sitting and waiting for them to do anything with Xenoblade X.

The story of 3 actually becomes interesting starting with the end of chapter 5 and onward, its still kinda boring but it actually goes somewhere at that point. Characters still suck though.

Speaking of which, I just started Torna last night, hope to get through it before TotK releases.

Still waiting for one to match XCDE for me. Loved the characters, the story and it was my introduction to the franchise, but each one since hasn't lived up to it. Torna was decent for a standalone game but after 2 I could've been happier with anything. Hopefully X gets ported at some point with bigger text size this time around.

I'll keep going then. It felt like after the Ouroboros mechanic got introduced and the initial tension in the party disappeared everyone just got boring and samey.

>something like half of the announcements were DLC for existing games
>everything else was an update or a port

when was the last time we saw a Switch exclusive (indie)? Did I miss one in this Direct or has there not been one for a while?
I'm not surprised. Who in their right mind would want their game to compete with Tears of the Kingdom?

I mean, are that many indies really vying for a slice of the same pie as TOTK? From what I can tell most indies tend to stick to farming sims/RPGs/Platformers of both kinds and maybe rhythm games or casual stuff, at least on Switch. TOTK is a big open-world adventure game and a sequel in a long-lived and established franchise. Saying indies don't want to go up against that is sort of like saying Everhood is competing with Animal Crossing because they can both be played on Switch.

The head of NoA's indie program, who actually did a really good job and found stuff like Overcooked, left about two or three years ago. And if Nintendo isn't paying for it whats the point of going exclusive? Anyways, I hate the current "indie" style so it makes sense that it wasn't for me.

Future Connected was 10 hours to 100%, so I think it might be a bit longer because its paid, but its not a standalone release like Torna

Yeah I think 15 hours is what we should expect. If its longer than well thats good I guess.

Oh, this is gonna be great. The inevitable 60 FPS mod will be nice since the original struggles to hit 30. There have been some crazy mods made with the decomp in recent years - like Black Pit, which turns the game into a roguelike among other things, and a mod that backports a bunch of mechanics and badges from TTYD - so I wonder if any of those will be ported to PC.
