Good point, and easy to understand. I just wanted to point out that many people were not retaining information relevant to the person (and to an extent the content) of the one whose thread bears his name. The powers that be can move the thread wherever they want, but one would think people would be paying attention to Nick and co. especially with all the Drexel talk that was happening back then (more permissible when positive?) and people engaging with Kayla content.

To say that Nick's thread being under Multimedia can be interpreted a passive defense/oversight for observable criticism would affirm the layers of cover I was talking about, so it sounds like we agree(?). To put it another way, it sounds like your point is complementary to (and not contrary to) the point I was making. I hope I am understanding that rightly.

To be clear, I'm not implying Nick's thread was designated as some kind of "safe space", but rather agreeing with you that it was a contributing factor as to why it took so long for people to start putting some of the pieces together (Nick's enduring cuck fixation, Drexel telling on himself for years, Kayla's TMI sessions).

That said, I also agree that initially presenting Nick with the opportunity to clearly earn his thread being moved was fair/reasonable and a good model for a healthy online community. Some may try to leverage that to their undue advantage for a time, but time can also be very telling.

I don’t think it will be complete radio silence. Nick did state he was going to try and a least do a tour stream of the air b&b if nothing more. If the house he’s staying in is nice enough, I have no doubt he’ll stream a tour because it will satisfy his narcissistic desire to showcase to the plebs how important he is, how he can afford to stay in (quoting one of my favorite movies) the palatial imitation apartment.

Well, the main conclusion I take away from it is that this thread should have been in Internet Famous from the beginning.

It's very evident that Nick, just like Dick Masterson did, thought his thread being in Multimedia was a special anointed status that gave him immunity from criticism. When he started seeing criticism on his thread, he thought he was being treated unfairly and lashed out. This was the case even back in the first 9 months of last year when the bulk of the criticism was CLEARLY constructive like "Nick needs to promote his Rumble channel more because he's liable to get banned from YouTube" and not the criticism today like "Nick should stop being a degenerate drunkard".

This has resulted in an awkward shitshow over the last 6 months as Nick quite clearly views what's happened with his thread as a betrayal, without realizing that he did it to himself.

The dissonance between the stuff he was up to in his personal life and the image he portrayed on his show was so massive that you kind of have to mock it. Nick should just be happy that he didn't make it to Crowder levels of prominence before this came out, because news about a creator on that tier probably would have gone viral on major social media platforms like Twitter or Reddit, and then everyone would know about this shit rather than just the people who visit this thread or Elissa's channel.

It may interest you to know that I think Null just banned him.

Apparently, in addition to the stuff going on in this thread, he was also over in the Comicsgate thread advancing the (rather ridiculous) idea that Null intentionally caused the Farms to go down to protect one of Ethan Van Schiver's friends.

That's kind of hilarious. It's such an absurd conspiracy that I can't imagine anyone taking it seriously.

Spent some time going through old posts to try and understand the culture of the thread back then since I'm relatively new here. There were elements of fair criticism from way back that were well received on the thread and still relevant, like this one from 2020 (minor edit for length):

And here I thought Nick was going to actually put some effort in on his channel. A big part of Nick's problem, his potential descent into cowdom, has been how little effort he personally puts into the show, especially show prep. It bit him in the ass quite publicly in this case, but I feel it's related to his overall lack of effort.

For example, there's been a string of promised topics he hasn't delivered on (2nd amendment panel, further Russell shows, etc), seemingly because he can't or won't schedule guests. Outside the last couple of weeks, even big brain panels had become a rarity. And how many times does he use, "I'm going through this with you live for the reaction", only to have to spend 5+ minutes on stream either downloading or redacting a document off screen. And then there are the low effort topics. Bringing on some sperg who's maybe a cuck? Spending an hour recounting some Twitter spat he had that day, or worse, bitching about his "personal" account termination, these aren't compelling content.

His media channel feels like it's just an avenue for even lower tier effort content. The one review I watched didn't bring much to the table. His proposed "Reading the first 10 pages of a book" idea, really low tier effort. Even the vidya streams with Drex haven't been that enjoyable, as compared to say their Battletoads playthrough.

Now sometimes his lack of prep has paid off- the Shane show being a great example. Would Shane have been a guest if he'd been thoroughly vetted? Probably not. Nick has found gallons of m.ilk from the kickvic side of weebwars, whether intended or not, and I've enjoyed plenty of lulz as a result.

Other posts pertaining to Nick letting things lapse here and there weren't very well received, but are worth reviewing if only to chuckle at allegations of Nick's persistent punctuality issues in his professional life.

Laziness and broken promises seem to be some of Nick's enduring characteristics. It figures that Nick would be more the type to wait for success to find him rather than seriously pursue it. Some things never change, I guess.

To be fair, that would have taken an amazing amount of foresight, and hindsight is always 20/20. Back in 2019 there were nothing even approaching consensus that Nick was a cow. He either changed, or put up a very convincing front.

I have suggested elsewhere that, moving forward, NO INDIVIDUAL get a thread in Multimedia anymore. My logic behind that is that it always seems to create an enormous amount of drama (The Masterson situation got absolutely ugly, with several people acting much like @Twitter Is Cancer did with the outlandish claims of "protection") when it comes time to move it, and there are plenty of other forums to discuss people deemed non-cows. Looking through the forum list, it appears that the only person left in there is James Rolf.

That's just my $0.02 though.

Yeah, but I don't think any of us are really here to care if he "gets it." He either does or he doesn't. It's been explained to him multiple times. Including in correspondence with Null. The line Nick is sticking with now is that of an obstinate drunkard incapable of introspection.

Also, I will note that this thread used to have a poll at the top that said Nick would be doxed "WHEN he becomes a cow." Sure enough, when @5t3n0g0ph3r moved the thread, the first thing he did was ask for the dox. I rather think that put Nick on notice that him one-day being perceived by as a cow was always a possibility.
