Lily's life stories are like Schrodinger's cat. They are both fake as fuck and true until someone opens up that box (ie, is able to corroborate or deny the story with reliable information.) Members of Lily's family could be able to open that box for us, but they don't seem too interested in doing so. Even the 'Courtney' we had here sounded more interested in being passive aggressive to Tuna for prodding at her to do literally anything to prove she's who she claims to be than actually sharing any info about Lily. Her family is likely a dead end, is all I'm saying.

But that's exactly how Lily likes it. Lying on the internet is really easy, because there's not a single person here who can outright deny any of it with any certainty. All we can really say is that it's 'unlikely' or that it's an exaggerated truth. It's a very real possibility there were two black women in Lily's apartment complex, and she just spun a yarn to her followers about how she headcanons these real people she doesn't actually know as gay lovers, and also sisters, all to ultimately frame herself as some kind of black ally for not reporting their sex crimes. And that possibility is way more disturbing to me than the event being real. That you could be minding your business and, without ever knowing it, some weirdo is telling people online that you raped them or that you're fucking your sister. She's like that one mom or friend of your mom who watches too much true crime and Lifetime movies. She desperately wishes her life was this thriller full of action, suspense, trauma and dark themes (a strong obsession with dark themes, as a matter of fact...) but the reality is she spends 18 hours a day hunched over her computer stomping on rats in her goblin cave waiting for the day she can drag her mate by the hair to her hovel and never let her escape.

This is generally what people do, and why I'm also inclined to believe that the earlier a story is told the more likely it is to be closer to the truth. Time tends to lend embellishment. The Remote Incident probably happened, but it was a small scuffle and probably began and ended when Lily hit her sister.

While knowing what actually happened would be nice just for a point of reference, the important part is the lies she tells and how. Like Suck said, when she needed to look like a badass she told a story about beating the shit out of her sister; now that she wants to be viewed as a victim, she was entirely innocent and suddenly a meat tenderizer is involved.

That said, she's also a full-on liar who makes shit up whole cloth when she wants attention. She's claimed to have been raped twice, but the second incident has been strangely forgotten since. She shanked a MAGA-hat wearer who was hunting for trans people on the street and for some reason wasn't arrested for herself possessing an illegal weapon despite the fact that (according to Lily) the cops will always jump at an opportunity to oppress a Native Trans Lesbian. I think she claimed her resource officer molested her in middle school previously but now it's first grade to make her even more smol and innocent.

This is what I meant by 'mythologizes her life'. She's either the hero or the victim in everything that's ever happened to her. Nothing was ever incidental or minor, it's always heightened drama. It's always the worst thing that could happen to somebody, or the most unbelievable validating twist. 'My DARE officer definitely taught us to antagonize the police and demand our due process.' 'I was SWATed and molested by the officers but then the lesbian cop who was there got all of the gross men suspended and spent a long time making me feel better.' With abysmal numbers like these I questioned Lily's objectivity with this clip show. It will knee cap her first big video is years, that is until I actually watched the intro for myself.

I've never read this or watched the manga but I heard about it because it became a huge (unnecessary) controversy when the anime came out (because most people can't even read a comic book). I don't know who the character on the left is but the character on the right is the title character and she's supposed to be a college student but her face makes her look like a middle schooler at best. It doesn't help that she's like 4 foot nothing or something like that. If her eyes were wider than tall, and she had a nose and sharper facial features, more people would recognize her as a very short woman instead of a school girl.

I do miss the days when anime characters still had more realistic eyes and noses. Hirohiko Araki is one of the few people to still draw humans that actually look like humans.
