Doctors discuss gender change therapies for minors as young as 8 in undercover video - One of those things that never happens

WASHINGTON (TND) — Project Veritas released the first part of an investigatory series Wednesday looking into how early in a child's life doctors across the country are willing to treat gender-questioning youth using drugs and other interventions.
The investigation found one social worker at a pediatric medical center in Texas admitting to treating patients as young as 8-years-old using gender transition procedures.
"We do have patients who are starting [their transition] as young as eight, nine. So we do have folks on the younger side," Nora Scott, a licensed social worker at Dell Children's Medical Center in Austin, Texas, said on undercover video recording obtained by Project Veritas. "In regards to prescribing, that's up to the prescribers discretion. They might just require a couple of appointments just to see, it might be appropriate after one," she continued. "It's not something that we want to gatekeep and require someone to come see us 10 times before its prescribed."
Project Veritas's investigation looked at nearly 50 different clinics across eight states, and inquired about the age at which a gender dysphoric youth could be placed on puberty blockers, typically the first step before any cross-sex hormones or gender surgeries are introduced due to the side effects they can have on young bodies, particularly bone growth.

"I follow the WPATH guidelines, the World Professional Association of Transgender Health guidelines, and really what they would say is, the way to go at this age — age 10 — would be something like a puberty blocker," Dr. John Steever, an adolescent medicine doctor at New York City's Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center, said in a Project Veritas undercover recording. "And that really stops puberty pretty quickly so that no further development of the secondary sexual characteristics happen. So, things like, there's no real chest development. There's no menstruation. Things like that."

Republican-led states have pushed to ban transgender treatments, like surgeries and drugs, for minors, but critics of these moves argue they are attacking trans youth by prohibiting them from obtaining "life saving, medically necessary" treatment.

"Project Veritas has been undercover in states across the nation for months, speaking to 'professionals' at more than 50 clinics responsible for transgender 'healthcare' for minors," Project Veritas Communications Director Eric Spracklen told The National Desk (TND). "What we have found is shocking. The work done by our investigative journalists in the field cannot be understated. This is just the beginning of #TooYoung."

My eight year old told me yesterday that when she grows up, she will be a millionaire and the first thing she will do with the money is go to Paris and fill the Eiffel Tower with cheese to find out how much cheese it holds. This is still a more realistic goal than "become a man".

I still have to wash her hair for her and check her teeth twice a day after brushing to check she got all the plaque. She is just not competent to make life altering decisions. She's barely out of pyjamas with feet in them.

I'm sure I'm hard and overbearing yada yada, but honestly, I'm not letting this tiny person make any fucking decisions about her bodily integrity and identity. She still sleeps with teddy bears and needs to be cuddled after nightmares. No one around here is making any healthcare decisions about hormone blockers when they don't even reliably eat vegetables.

And if - god forbid - she did develop a psychological disorder severe enough that I feared she might attempt suicide, I would do all I could to keep her safe and help her get well, because she is my baby and they mean everything to me. But I would not let any 'gender specialist' harm one hair of her precious little head, because she is perfect the way she is. The idea that someone would try to brainwash her otherwise makes me reflexively, instinctually rage.

I am not an expert in medicine. But I am prepared to say I have more expertise regarding my own child than someone who's never met her before. I love her more than anyone else in this world loves her.

I can see that other people respond.... differently. But this is one of these things that I know, I absolutely know, I would not and could not go along with. It would violate every feeling and instinct I have as a mother.

One of the things that really gets me about the "Do you want a dead daughter or living son?" BS, is that If someone is that mentally unstable that they are that close to killing themselves, they are not capable of making rational decisions that are going to have far reaching consequences.

Someone who wants to die cannot make reasonable predictions about their future. So how can they possibly know if being trans will fix things?

That’s the issue, a lot of people have no clue what they do and it’s easy for the doctors to lie and say that hormones are magic pills and they can actually surgically give a man a vagina and a woman a penis. That’s why it’s important to share stuff what the actual results of these treatments are.

If the naive parents knew what the result of “gender affirming care” is then nothing the doctors could say could convince them that it’s good. It’s easy to claim that someone successfully transitioned to the other gender with lots of makeup, angles, and carefully curated photos. It’s hard to claim that a woman with scars across her chest, curves, burn victim-like scars, and a coke can sized thing attached to her crotch is a man or that a a man with misshapen breasts, triangular torso, and an axe wound between his legs is a woman.

I wouldn’t believe them. I’d read up about the issue. I’d remove all internet access and get them involved in something to use their body in a healthy way like sports or hiking.
I would never, ever, allow this. The very idea of it is comepletly antithetical to good parenting. Parents know (or should) that kids go through puberty and feel weird. No doctor who told me that mutilating a child would ever be near them again, even if I’d never even heard of trannyism.
