RP Communities - teleports behind you

Role players are just really drawn to social media in general

Roleplaying is kind of like autistic cybersex.
In the worst ways, it's the opposite of tabletop Roleplaying.

Facebook seems to have a cesspool of shit Rpers, mainly the RP groups. The most my friend and I encountered are weirdos have have a baby kink or some weird fetish that makes no sense. Tumblr has some gems as well. I once remember running into an Rper who liked to have sex with everything. Be it someone's shitty Sonic Furfag OC to a robot.

Ah, this brings back memories of an RP group that went down in flames thanks to some genderqueer drama and lots of unnecessary Scarecrow x Riddler fucking.

Pass the brain bleach, please.

From what I recall, these guys are super serious about their roleplaying. They don't like silly, frugal things, and they take themselves far too seriously. When I was younger, I was on a role-play forum for Yugioh, but my ideas were far too silly and I was always rejected.

Reminds me of allot of snooty, OC Rpers who assume they are high and mighty and berate Canon Rpers. I once met someone who claimed they RPed since they were eight, but never improved their skills. They got pissy over people using different OOC Brackets or bark at someone for RPing a character they liked.

Her one friend was a pony recolour and hers was some bimbo.

On a side note, a friend and I lurk allot of RP groups on Facebook and see allot of Rpers liking Rape Roleplays.

Tumblr and Dreamwidth have the weirdest and youngest role playing communities. I know rpanon on Dreamwidth always has drama, or some variation of that name. The big panFandom communities always always have drama, esp on the social networking site plurk that everybody uses to communicate OOC.

I've even seen RP profiles on Pinterest..... It's so weird.

Tumblr use to have quality Roleplayers. Now it's over run by dramatic people, bad OCs, shi tstarters and twofaced people.

When I was younger, I use to frequent ChatandGo. There was so much drama and really weird Rpers who pretty much assaulted your character.

Anivid, Now called AniSpace was a cess pool of prissy Rpers who cared nothing more than their pretty profiles and berated new people. They had an RP forum called "RP Hut" which died within a few months due to drama and an admin who thrived for for fame. AniVid/Space had those people who claimed the real character.

It's so odd how the general RP community is kind of..... Off-putting across all platforms. There's no need for drama when you're just engaging in a hobby but then again, the Internet has a way of uniting drama Queens.

I really wish I was active in the RP community again so I could watch this drama unfold again. It was probably my second favorite thing about RPing, after the actual engaging with other people IC part.

Most RP communities I am in nowadays are a small coven of friends who know how to act like their given age.

I mean, There are peoplewho get angry if you RP the same character as them.

Oh boy, RP groups. They take LARPs and make them even worse in terms of dealing with favoritism and dysfunctionality, since people too broken to tabletop or LARP will usually ooze their way here.

I think the winning bout of stupidity are the ones where they "fight", since I've never seen a pvp match actually result in any lasting impact on either character unless it's a favorite or staff member v. some guy.

You sure know a lot about these nerds, Wish. :tomgirl: Surely, you couldn't be one of them, could you?

If you guys want a trip down memory lane, http://warcraft-sues.dreamwidth.org/ have some horrible Warcraft RP stuff. They haven't updated in about a year, but it's some funny shit.
World of Warcraft has been absolute cancer in terms of RP, and the only redeeming part of it was troll potential.
Literally watched a bitchfight erupt between people RPing "Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter" and "Werewolf Packs."
