Saw this posted on Twitter, seems they filled out a form/questionnaire and it gave them the next steps they could take. At the bottom it has a 'What you need to know' section where it says:

1. You don't need to hire a lawyer to file a complaint
2. You don't need to pay a fee for filing the complaint

Keffals really did just take the cheapest possible action to prevent GoFundMe fraud allegations which could've effected Keffals legal right to that money since 'Legal Fund' was in the title of the GFM.
The retainer was $5k and that's been paid for months, I wonder if he even charged for filing the complaint letter.

On the website it goes on to state that once submitted the commission will either just close the complaint without further action or if they approve it'll then go to the London Police to respond to the allegations.
Keffals might even be hoping that CHRC just decline to pursue the complaint further so this whole thing only cost $5k so the rest of the GFM can just be banked.

This complaint process calls a few things into questions though, for example Keffals said for months that they couldn't talk about the legal process because they're in the Discovery phase of things and if they announce anything it allows the people they're suing to destroy potential evidence etc, which is why they're now filing a complaint letter and publicizing it publicly in a process which ultimately then gives the police 60 days to respond.
The story and the type of legal action is constantly being changed over the months.

Now...if what happened, happened...Lucas can go sue in civil court. His Lawyer probably should have steered him in that direction. However they know this won't fly in a real court, because you know...you need proof. Furthermore, a judge, a real judge would look at this, and figure, that Lucas thought of this with one hand down his shit stained pants, and dismiss right away.
The HRT, may accept the premise on it's face. However...if there is no evidence to show this happened, then Lucas has nothing. Usually with a HRT someone does something like make a joke about a lesbian couple in a comedy club, and they sue. They have prove, that the incident happened, either through video, or witness statements. It then becomes an issue of if said joke violated their human rights. If Lucas had proof, he could sue in civil court.

Whoever steered him on this path is a fucking retard.

Considering that the acronym for The Human Rights Tribunal is "HRT", I would not be surprised if that is the reason Lucas chose it & forced his lawyer to file it with them, rather than a civil case.

maybe i am wrong here but i feel like the amount of times keffals has changed his story already fucks up his case. if he had stuck with his original claims then sure he might get somewhere or at least force some form of internal investigation.

but the dude never keeps the same story and this current story does not really make sense. like why exactly would a cop feel someones breast to decide if they were male or female. especially when people like keffals exist.
