NEW YORK — April 24, 2023 — FOX News Media and Tucker Carlson have agreed to part ways. We thank him for his service to the network as a host and prior to that as a contributor.

Mr. Carlson’s last program was Friday April 21st. Fox News Tonight will air live at 8 PM/ET starting this evening as an interim show helmed by rotating FOX News personalities until a new host is named.

FOX News Media operates the FOX News Channel (FNC), FOX Business Network (FBN), FOX News Digital, FOX News Audio, FOX News Books, the direct-to-consumer streaming services FOX Nation and FOX News International and the free ad-supported television service FOX Weather. Currently the number one network in all of cable, FNC has also been the most watched television news channel for more than 21 consecutive years, while FBN ranks among the top business channels on cable. Owned by Fox Corporation, FOX News Media reaches nearly 200 million people each month.

And the right will CONTINUE to pound sand and scream threats on the internet while doing nothing irl as they get deplatformed.

All you faggots are arguing about politics, when I'm just laughing at Fox for possibly committing suicide.
I think it's funny but I don't think Fox News will die. CNN has been an abject failure for over a decade yet continues to exist. The government will stimmy its lugenpresse for as long as the money printers work.

My thoroughly boomer-con dad sent me a text saying "well, I officially have no reason to watch Fox anymore".

If people like him are checking out, they're in real trouble.
Yeah it is the same with my boomer con mother. Said told me; ' Well I have no reason to watch Fox anymore. Fuck them." She would watch Fox everyday. If someone like her is checking out then Fox is in trouble.

Ben Shapiro cumming at the thought of hiring him, daily wire would be the biggest conservative news source.
That implies the Daily Wire has enough cash for him. If they couldn't pony up to Steven Crowders what? Fifty million dollars? Someone like Carlson would absolutely demand more than him. And even if they ponied that up, as others have pointed out, Carlsons reach is the over sixty crowd. And as you increasingly get more and more niche, or put more tech barriers in front of that audience, the harder it is for them to reach.

As for what's next? I dunno. I don't think it'll be a new cable news gig at any of Fox's competitors to the right. Newsmax and OAN just don't have that reach. Newsmax particularly has been getting kicked off of cable news providers for a while now. And I can't see him starting his own network on his own. But if he did, it'd be kinda funny. Cos sort of like how now we have all these streaming services, it'd definitely cuck Shapiro, Pool and the rest of those subscription based, right wing media guys. I think anyone who does try to poach him in any case, will nearly financially kill themselves doing so.

My own prediction, is that Carlson ends up working as a political operative. One of those media guys for a campaign, or a spokesman of some sort. Would not at all be surprised if the GOP manage to win the White House one year, for him to become their press secretary or something. Either that, or because he's a nepo baby, he ends up biding his time for his own run. Either that, or he becomes like Rod Dreher, and gets some conservative mega donors to bankroll him being able to write nearly anything.

Wasn't what I was expecting today, but good for Tucker. Fox News has been shit for years and is only getting worse.
All these legacy news companies are essentially the same anyway.

It reminds me of that episode of Metalocalypse where William Murderface "finds religion" where it basically end with him ranting about how all religions are the same and there's almost no difference.

Take your bets, will Fox News still exist during the next election?
Yes, but I think there's a very real possibility this is Murdoch's swan song.

I know that Fox's audience is pissed, but shareholders are probably LIVID.

The brand lost $690 million in value just from the news of Carlson leaving.

I think his issue is that there's really nowhere he can go without shifting focus to a younger conservative audience. Fox is cable. Cable is for boomers. Boomers don't do computers too well. Carlson's success was due to a perfect storm of the medium and demographics. Which is not to say young people don't like Carlson, it's just that his success is mainly attributable to a much older audience.

Why the same day? I dunno, cuz it's Monday?
Sure sure, or more likely: Rupert Murdoch was fuming about the Dominion lawsuit. He went to go vent his frustrations to his golden goose, Tucker. When he went to his office, Tucker was nowhere to be seen, after checking the bullpen, the annex, and the broadcast room, he went to the parking garage.
To his surprise he saw a Prius shaking side to side in Tucker's spot. two cardinal sins worth calling security. Upon investigating he found Tucker ramming Don's lemon in the back. When confronted, Tucker would give his usual dumbfounded look and respond with "I'm just helping him study for a prostate exam? Maybe I'm just sticking it to the radical left."
