Western Animation - Discuss American, Canadian, and European cartoons here (or just bitch about wokeshit, I guess)

Think of how many cartoons have come and gone since 2013. Think about how different the world is now.
IT has been...THAT long?!...Already?!

It can't have been that long
It can't
I refuse
I refuse

I will turn the sand into glass
You cannot stop me
The flow of time shall be no more

Come on, you wanna put her and her people outta work?! Shame on you.

I love the fact that the people who make the most fucked up shit in the world are almost always nice people. John K is a notable exception of course because he was just a bog standard ephebophile who was openly perverted that made one good cartoon.
Call it a hunch, but I think it's the fact that those types of people who draw macabre/grotesque shit just tend to be more honest about themselves. It's like "yeah I draw this gross shit, nothing else really." Whereas those who constantly put up with drawing/personifying overly cutesy uwu animu type schlock tend to be the most disingenuous assholes with some very obvious skeletons in their closets. It's not always the case and there will be exceptions of course, but it seems like that's how it goes at least to me.

I’ll admit here that I used to be one of those people that thought this version of Teen Titans was too childish and over the top to be taken seriously, and I never bothered with it until almost a decade ago.

But now, with a few exceptions, the recent animated shows we’ve been seeing show up makes TTG look like modern art in comparison.

Idk. Instantly hated by myself because of /co/ in that time.

I think it also helps that constantly seeing and thinking of fucked-up shit makes you appreciate how much better the real world is than what you're drawing lol
As opposed to the aforementioned cutesy uwu which is a lot heavier on sunshine and rainbows, which makes comparison to the real world prompt doom and gloom

funny how that same mentality went into why johnny test was so hated for the 10 odd years it was on (until its netflix reboot anyways) Maybe it wasn't hated as much as when it first aired (2005 after all youtube was litterally born the very same year) but within the first few season the seething over that show was everywhere. That brief time where TTG and JT where the most hated shows on tv at the time...again oh how sweet , naive and young we all were. With no idea just how bad things were going to get, the shape of things to come.

Honestly, you’re onto something there.

I’ve met a couple of people who put on this Good Samaritan act but the fact was they were a bunch of self-righteous twats.

But I’ve met people who had some peculiar interests or hobbies and they were usually honest and friendly.

@Deadwaste (because the site is currently complete broken shit, I couldn't quote your post)
What about adult animated shows that aired after either Simpsons, Beavis & Butthead, South Park, Family Guy, Futurama and American Dad?

beavis and butthead and futurama both ended, they only got reboots and futurama is weird cause it ended like 5 times in the past. the other shows technically still count though im still unsure about family guy because there was that one time it got cancelled, but then uncancelled it after syndication on adult swim and it became really popular

Family Guy, Futurama and American Dad were screwed over by Fox, with the former only being brought back by the network due to huge Adult Swim airings and DVD sales, and the latter two airing new episodes on different networks, respectively. Only Futurama aired on Comedy Central for more episodes (including the 4 DTV movies) but is currently about to air more on Hulu this summer, while American Dad has moved to TBS since 2014 and still on there today.

Better than nothing, I guess. Most shows wouldn't even get that.
Agreed. People losing full rights to their shows only for nothing to ever be done with them sucks, so I’m glad he’s able to finish the story at least, especially with the mess that is WB Discovery.
