Phil can't keep his story straight, saying YT told him to get a lawyer, but he has neither time nor money to do this.
Then later, he says he is talking to a lawyer and going to get a lawyer involved. He'll let his audience know if he needs financial help/a legal fund.
Then he walks it back later and says he's just in the process of starting to talk to a lawyer. But he doesn't have the time or money to do it.
Meanwhile, it's the evening in Renton and I don't know where he'd find a copyright lawyer the evening that the strikes hit. Maybe he called the same crack legal team that handled his bank leaks/not his bank leaks/his identity theft/the theft of the identity that wasn't his but somehow impacted him.

This isn't a complicated thing here. Either you're talking to a lawyer or you're not.
But this isn't about a lawyer, this is about what was sandwiched in the middle - he's going to try to get lawyer money without ever firmly saying he's even talking to a lawyer.
Tips were slow, so we need an emergency to get the ball rolling on some pity money we can memoryhole in 2 months.
