Several reasons for that, it seems.

1)The nature of the content is comparatively shocking. Every time Chris posts stuff about his gross body it elicits hyperbolic reactions of disgust.
2)Because of the obvious infection, fear-mongers are quick to conclude this wound could kill Chris
3)Whenever Chris's mortality comes into play, A-logs and White Knights come out of the woodwork to fight the eternal battle for Chris's soul.

Seems par for the course if you ask me. I'll take my autistic ratings now.
