They've got nothing and it shows. There's no reason to join.
The reasons I joined? Well... those don't apply any more. America isn't for me. I'm not allowed the American Dream. They don't need me. The VA has made it plain that they just want us to hurry up and die because we're drains on the American tax payer, taking money that belongs to the parasite classes. That I'm a violent relic of a more barbaric time.

THAT was extremely typical. You got up, made breakfast for your siblings, made sure they all got to school. You wrangled them to get them home. They would watch Smurfs, Transformers, My Little Pony, Rainbow Brite while you made dinner. Then do your homework after they go to bed. Wake up at 1AM so you can get screamed at about how you ruined their lives till 2-3AM, go back to sleep, wake up at 6AM and repeat until they threw you out at 18 because you're old enough to fend for yourself.
Holy shit, did the Boomers hate us for "stopping the party" and "I had to set aside MYYYYYYYYY DREEEEEAMS!" and all that bullshit. They acted like their kids are the reason that the party ended and they couldn't keep going with the Summer of Love and just go to Woodstock over and over. (500,000 people went to Woodstock. Every Gen-Xers has met them all)
Remember, it was legal till like the late 80's to just leave your kid in the car when you went into the store or... in the bar to drink for 4-6 hours.

A rural American who grills his own steak contributes far less to the GDP than an urbanite dining at a steakhouse, but both people ate the same thing. GDP is a measurement of the velocity of money, not productivity.
Also, a lot of the money attributed to the big cities wasn’t produced there; they’re just where the corporate headquarters happens to be.
Not in this case. They need the debt ceiling raised and only the House can create financial bills. If McCarthy doesn’t cave to threats, this bill is their only option to avoid a government shutdown.
Hopefully the Republicans have realized that no one outside the Beltway cares about (or even notices) a government shutdown. The only people who complain are the media and government workers, all of whom vote for the Democrats. There is no reason to not shut down the government until the Democrats are willing to accept all your terms.

This isn't just a government shutdown we're facing. This is the US government defaulting on its debts. That will result in Global Economic Armageddon. Causing that with fiscal autism is the dumbest thing House Republicans could do right now.

In a sense I'm grateful that Trump isn't currently president. We will need him for when America is ready to undergo bankruptcy proceedings and restructuring. Trump is aparrently well seasoned in those matters.

They love that sort of argument but don't realize that GDP isn't some magic number but the combined economic output. They say they understand that, but they really don't. GDP is a complex number whose real value depends on a multitude of factors. A big GDP alone doesn't mean you are rich, and a small one doesn't mean you are poor. Los Angeles has a huge GDP and is the Homeless capital of the USA as a example. Those rich cities whose money comes from large corporations doing business? They can't run if the poor hicks from flyover country won't take food to them.
Here is a good metaphor: A KFC only spends a fraction of it's money on, and doesn't directly even sell, cooking oil. But try and run the place without any cooking oil, see how well the "wealth generation" of the KFC works then.
2020 was a poisoned chalice. They won, they got Orange Man out and cracked down on populism in Europe and locked down the masses to push their WEF agenda and make up lost time. But they sold out their entire future and stability to do so.
