*I acknowledge a lot of evopsych is just-so stories and "in caveman days x is what humans did, which explains y behavior" but it is like it or not the main field of science that tries to make sense of human behavior.

In general, feminists tend to dislike this sort of research, I may have overstated the "shit fit" on a particular book. But if you read enough literature, you tend to find feminists feel this sort of science popularizes misogyny and justifies neoliberal social practices(meaning basically modern capitalism and the social relations therein).

With regards to "mating practices"-well how much distaste for that term is because of romantic notions of what love is or is supposed to be, that imply humans are more than, or should be more than hairless apes. (I'm a cynical romantic, I want mankind to be like angels, not apes but it does me no favors to deny the animal substrate of human subconscious urges).

As for the mating practices debate, fuck that. I'm not a dog. Love takes time and work- both things incels hate.

Strip away the romance from sex and it is animalistic, the love and lust involved in sex is by nature us defaulting to our animal instinct to breed. Everyone tries to sell relationships as you need to provide, be chivalrous and be "In touch with your feelings" and whilst true it does nothing to help someone on a love quest in arousing a women to them, you need both sides if you want to keep a gril around and no one really talks about the monkey sex side of relationships

Romance is what separates us from animals. You're not completely wrong, but acting like people solely think with their crotches is stupid. People are people, that includes women. Love is a vital part of a lasting relationship, without it it all falls apart

I kind of feel like if you're an incel in denial you are better than an incel.

That just makes you a regular guy who doesn't really get laid vs. a deranged heliophobic nut who spends their time online with other neurotic cretins concocting lunatic theories about how if you aren't either a millionaire or in the top 15th percentile of height there's no possible way to get laid, so the government should let you force yourself on young teenage girls or give you female prisoners to have sex with.

Eh, loudly in denial (coughcoughmostofMGTOW) = willful delusion = loser. But that's just my 2 cents.

It's funny you mention that because denial was a big part of why incel sites first sprang up.

See - there are elements in the incel community that need to be muzzled, but a well run incel forum is one of the few places a young man can go on the clearnet and finally be told "your eyes are not lying to you, the old formula doesn't work, the rules have changed, modern women do not think or act the same as your grandma and your Boomer parents/relatives/adult friends are in denial about all of this."

You will not get this acknowledgement of truth many other places. Not even from 'conservatives', mostly because they're assmad that they got pwned in the culture war. Everywhere you go, someone has a vested interest in denying the goddamn obvious.

That kind of breakthrough is a miracle to a young 20something who's wondering why the fuck none of the advice he's been told - sometimes from the people he trusted most - has been working so far, and that it clearly isn't going to work.

why are they acting like having sex with a woman will somehow solve all your social problems you've had before in life
if you are unattractive, anti social, bitter, lazy, have no ambition and you blame being an incel on chads and stacys and shit
all of a sudden having sex won't fix your previous ingrained problems.
It's like when wings and boogie got the weight loss surgery, they still had all the same problems that led to them being fat in the first place
then wouldn't you know it, they beat the surgery and gained all the weight back
i dont think this mod will go back to being an incel mod, but his prospects dont seem very high either way.

edit: another example thats directly related is chris chan. he finally had sex with a prostitute, meaning he's no longer an incel. did anything about his life change at all after that, not really.
ethan ralph got married and had kids. didnt change at all

I don’t think incel just means virgin. If your losing your virginity depends on paying for it, this carries certain implications and questions about the individuals looks and social standing. For all intents and purposes you’re still an incel.

I understand incel to be a set of ideas that propose certain predetermined genetic factors play a role in how you are perceived and the kind of life you will live. That good looks open certain doors that bad looks will not naturally open, for instance.

I think whether somebody responds to the idea ‘looks matter’ with despair and bitterness or they just make the most of what they have and try to get by is gonna be down to the individual.
