Everytime this thread surges in pages is another sign that the West should never be allowed to produce anime-related content and should stay consumers only. Literally have not seen anything positive come out from Western vtubers.

Western vtubers who follow the "twitch streamer" model are cancer but weeaboos and those who want to copy the JP model are good.

Sadly, the former are much more numerous than the latter.

Vshojo is not a true Vtuber group, they're not like other companies. They're just a few indies grouped together under a name to look the part. Everyone does their own shit, they barely do something together, everyone has their own people they collab with and do shit.
And they aren't even graduating, nothing will change, if youre a fan of either of these two you'll still be able to keep watching them without having to find out their new names.

The only thing that will come out of this is that it confirms the theories of them being a mean girls clique, they weren't even friends to begin with, it was all just publicity.

And if the translator isnt wrong and Kson is out too I think this speaks a lot about what happens internally.

While I would like to agree that it's "just a group of gals" like Girls FC or smaller indie collectives like South Side, the 11 million dollar investment says otherwise. They are a corporate entity no matter how much they wish to market or present themselves as such. The giant as fuck booth they had (which Pippa spoke about last year) at that one Expo isn't a casual investment people do. It's marketing 101. Really they need to start thinking forward because the roster they have doesn't inspire loyalty or good faith.

youtube is apparently getting even more retarded with restrictions and content, and don't forget holos already had to deal with susantube's shit. I can understand why someone would stick to twitch (even if it's just the lesser shit option), some even said so outright. besides there seems to be a resurgence of questioning the profitability of it all, tying yourself to one platform only, especially a google one, can bite you in the ass in the end.

as for vhsojo, you got jp and the non-entity that is english vshojo, which just lost two talents. who knows who's left standing in the end when all the chips have fallen.

seeing not-rushia get her own live translator was probably annoying for silver vale, because it showed the company had clear favoritism to fund certain talents that had clout

Well, since you mentioned senpai, when it comes to corporate vtubers, the talents don't come up with their names, so blame the Japanese for that.

Also, food for thought, but when in the companies that have English speaking branches everyone but the talents are Japanese or some other kind of Asian, do those branches count as truly Western? If not, are the Jews one of the few truly Western vtuber companies?

It's either they're autistically larping as Japanese or they're constantly coomer brain and unable to not make everything about sex. Anytime I see a non-Japanese vtuber taking on a Japanese persona I just immediately associate them with the kind of people I know and feel repulsed.

Honestly, I feel you count the EN branches as western as they most definitely act differently from their JP counterparts more often than not, but you couldn't consider the whole company western. The indie sphere is a lot more obvious in EN/JP separation which is where a lot of the "Ew western vtubers" come from.

I didn't know they do that in Niji. I just thought the general "We make the characters, you don't have much of an input" that companies do, applied for all of them.
