Notice how this person refuses to address their friend as a woman. It's only they/them throughout the whole post. They even put the word "female" in scare quotes. This is someone so deeply entrenched in trans ideology that they're unable to justify the act of detransition, because that would mean calling their own decisions into question - the comment about secondhand embarrassment is especially telling.
Basically just troons reading stuff that makes them feel bad on purpose. Intentionally feeding their gender dysphoria/persecution complex by seeking out "transphobic" content because it reinforces their identity. Very common.

Most Americans in adulthood gain weight so steadily and inexorably these days that many people in their 30s or 40s think that the immobility and poor health that accompanies their obesity is just the result of no longer being in their 20s.
I am not even being snarky here, it's real. "Damn, I'm not in my 20s anymore!" used to mean "I can no longer pull an all-nighter easily" or whatever. These days it means "my joints are failing and I have 3 different autoimmune conditions because my body can no longer handle all the donuts I am eating."

Man I agree with this so much. Not to toot my own horn, but I got into fitness big as a teenager and it paid off very handsomely for me in the long run - not only do I LOOK a good decade younger than I am as I'm in my late 30s, but I continue to smoke kids ten to fifteen years my junior whenever I take a fitness test against people that happen to be in that age group. Even with a full time job that DOES have me lug stuff around as a tradesman I continue to hard-exercise daily once I'm off the clock. And mind you, I'm obsessed with staying as strong and fit as I can as long as possible so I do a lot. No one needs to go to the level I enjoy going to to simply be in great health and look physically attractive. What the devil happened to millennials and even zoomers these days in terms of physical discipline? I'm not being rhetorical, something deeper has happened and I'm wondering what...

Oh yes I see this a lot. It's cringe. They use age as an excuse for being slobs and prematurely call themselves old at every opportunity. It's a strange self defeatist attitude that only breeds misery and mediocrity.
A guy I know who is 37 still does all nighters on Dota 2 just like he did in 2012, my direct report at work is 52 and drinks heavily then shows up to work normal the next day. By negative nancy logic the moment he crossed 30 he should've started suffering from crippling hangovers.

I hate how these people keep pushing this shit as "lifesaving".
A heart transplant or chemotherapy can help save someone's life. A teenager with a seemingly healthy body chopping off their balls or tits, changing their actual sex on legal documents or a male peeping in the women's washroom is not "lifesaving". The only time adopting a new identity could be "lifesaving" is if someone is running from say, a violent stalker. If people are going to go into suicide mode because they can't accept reality, maybe that speaks more of their mental instability and other potential underlying issues that needs to be addressed.

Right, they are two different classes of MtF. The "classic" middle-aged, late-transition hon is usually hyper-masculine and competent in his career (the proportion of late MtF transitioners who are veterans is astronomically high).
To some extent, the transition itself is a display of that masculine power. You know how people like Steve Jobs (PBUH) or Bill Gates often walk(ed) around looking like slobs? That's a power signal. They are conveying "You, lesser man, have to look respectable at work and might even have to wear a suit. I have so much fuck-you money and power that I can look like this, and people still know I'm in charge."
Powerhon cross-dressing is often an extreme form of that. It's conveying to the men around them "I'm dressed as a woman, I look ridiculous, and on some level we both know that this is a weird fetish thing. Despite all that, you still have to do what I say. You even have to call me by my ridiculous name and pronouns. I have power over you."
(Of course, due to institutional capture and the influence of these same powerhons, that last perk is now available to any man who dresses like a woman in many countries. Usually it only obtains him power over women though, not other men, so it's not quite the same)
One interesting question is, how much of the future pool of potential powerhons is being cannibalized by the current troon movement? How many future Martine Rothblatts and Jennifer Pritzkers are trooning out young and losing their masculine ambition because they were chemically castrated by age 18, rather than taking the traditional powerhon route?
