Honestly, it's probably a combination of him having been proven wrong when jumping to conclusions in the past and him sympathizing with Crowder that as a public figure someone could conceivably release a hit piece like video of him that would make him look abusive.
The retarded part is that in his effort not to shoot himself in the foot this time, he's riding the pendulum too far in the other direction. He didn't just stop at saying that Crowder was being a piece of shit in this argument but he's not yet comfortable calling the whole marriage abusive. He's running the other way screaming "CONTEXT", making crude jokes about him abusing his wife, questioning the validity of the leaks by asking how and why they were released, downplaying how the high risk, IVF, pregnancy with twins to the mid 30s woman might affect the situation, and positing that it could all be staged and that maybe the crying wife saying "I just need some space" is the real abuser in all of this.
It's a ridiculous and biased take and just as unnecessary as the assholes jumping the other way claiming that this clip is enough to burn Crowder at the stake.

I am purely speculating here but there is potential for some drama brewing.

Destiny is now completely obsessed with a new e-girl called Farha. She does OnlyFans (of course) and has been on his stream a lot recently. She is mostly known for being completely mute on several No Jumper podcasts and maliciously editing a viral tik tok to make it look like Destiny blames women for being raped. Obviously Destiny hand waved this and forgave her instantly because she's a woman and he wants to fuck her. Melina was/is in Hawaii doing her camgirl streams and during that time Destiny moved this other girl into their apartment.

The streams with her are super weird because she's actually like a retarded child and he is constantly flirting and negging her. His chat has started pointing out the "low rizz voice" he does when he talks to any woman on stream. Destiny normally responds to this by banning people because he's so sensitive about it. It's ironic that he says his community has a misogyny problem when he openly tries to fuck any woman he brings on.
Him and Farha are also hanging out after stream watching movies together. The reason this is interesting is because he rarely does things like this for Melina - he will pretty much do anything to avoid spending time with her, until she freaks out at him and he has to book out specific travel time so he is away from his computer and can't play games to avoid her. I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure one of their "rules" is that they don't hook up with people inside their apartment. Melina has issues with jealousy and Destiny not paying enough attention to her or spending enough time together. It looks like tiny is currently at the stage in his coom cycle where he is completely fixated on a new girl which normally leads to some drama.

I often hear that Destiny is “based now” but the proof is just that he’s a performative misogynist on twitter. Even if it was sincere it would just prove that woman-hating is actually a cringe leftoid thing (something like 75% of incels support left wing policies outside of playing to the right’s dislike of feminism).
