Chris seems so deeply entrenched in his fantasy (and stupidity) that direct action will not work, the authorities will not step in because they have no grounds to and his immediate family is... well documented in their willingness to enable his stupidity.

Oh I agree completely. You would have better luck stopping a speeding train than stopping Chris. But concern is a natural reaction people are going to have. I'm concerned for Chris but I'm not to try and stop him because I know it wont do any good.
