That's a lot more accurate than you think. A lot of the CWCki-era posters are leftist, and they like to leverage their seniority to get their pet causes supported. It doesn't help that Null has an actual case of Trump Derangement Syndrome due to freaking out about how “I need Section 230 or else I’ll be sued into oblivion!” Never mind the fact that Biden is even worse about protecting free speech on the internet, Trump said he wanted to overhaul a clause in the CDA that the major tech companies were abusing, that's terrible! So now the Farms is still targeted relentlessly by censors even when the main userbase isn't engaging in fedposting like the case that Null likes to bring up all the time, but at least Twitter was allowed to censor with impunity.

I've been around since before the name change and most of the posters from that era leaned left on social issues. That wasn't really clear until the mid 2010's when a lot of right wing conversation got kicked off other platforms and ended up here. Before then, there wasn't a lot of specifically political discussion but I thought it was a welcome addition to the site where a lot of OG users, including Josh, didn't like it. Political talk has stuck around because I think Josh sees it as necessary because there's no more places left on the internet where left and right wing people can call each other faggots without it turning into a federal investigation.

However if you check out the lolcow threads of popular figures branded "alt-right" or "far right" by the media. It's largely filled with political posts and attacks that wouldn't seem out of place on reddit.

There are many, *many* leftist political opinions, TDS being a shining example, that are 100% emotion-based. YOUR opinions, however, *are* political, because they disagree with the lefty politics.

Yeah, basically there are three different TDS exhibits "lolcow" threads which are all pretty much the same thing. They have the two you mentioned plus "Trump Enslavement Syndrome." It's possible there are one or two others I may be forgetting. It doesn't really make sense why they haven't all been merged into one thread.

"Biden Derangement Syndrome" is especially funny just as a general concept. By that standard, they would have to say this forum was founded by people with Chris-Chan derangement syndrome when "derangement" just means pointing out something bad even if it's true.
