It's amazing how Dick is so unbelievably pig-headed and contrarian that he has to go out of his way to choose the wrong answer to everything for the sake of laughs or libertarianism or whatever the fuck. He acknowledges Ralph is an alcoholic drug addict but has enabled him for years.

I've said it for a long time, the whole "Ralphamale" persona is Dick's idea.
It's the same thing as when he talks lonely girls into turning into leaving their families and turning into whores.
Ralph lived his entire life as a shut in, mild mannered, cucky beta Democrat voting manlet with ocassional rage outbursts (pretty normal for an estrogen ladden lard ass).
And that is exactly what he was when the KS got big, just a more charismatic Mundane Matt.
It was when Dick started appearing that he kept telling Ralph he needed to embrace a character. And because Ralph has an accent, that character was at first a "southern plantation owner" kinda thing, he actually told Ralph he should wear a Colonel Sander suit for Warski v Tonka.
Of course, nothing gentlemanly fits Ralph, who is a closet homosexual bottom, so Dick then keep telling Ralph he needed just be alpha white trash, the bowling ally wedding was Dicks idea and he was the on the Killstream telling Ralph "That's just YOU!"
Of course, now that Ralph's life is ruined and he is a legal liability he doesn't really want anything but for Ralph to go away, like he does for the girls he turned into crack whores.
But he need to keep the contrarian act up, that is his whole persona, so he needs to pretend to be on Ralph's side just because he is so reprehensible disgusting to society at large.
