Furry Convention Drama - Because you can't have a couple thousand dog fucking enthusiasts under the same roof without shit hitting the fan

To put it strightfoward, LondonFurs is not good. The last WinterParty was criticized for being too big for the Tank and Paddle as there wasn't enough space. A few people have been banned for no reason. One person got banned for reporting Sexual Abuse they received, to the staff. The Chairman is not a good person, A few of the staff are DHC and Zoo supporters. There's massive circle jerking around a few popufurs that attend.

Care to name the zoo supporters on staff? Or is this just LFMReceipts on Twitter all over again?

Here's why I was voted off the board by the other convention chairs. The convention board didn't like my ideas about improving the con. I suggested updating the gaming room with newer video game systems and they didn't wish to spend the money. They are still using older systems such as a PS3 and XBox 360. I tried telling them about the Arcade 1UP arcade and pinball games and wanted to get two or three of them for the con. They were being bitchy about the money, yet the con has been constantly growing with more funds coming in, and still they want to be cheap as fuck and not update things. Their gaming room needs more monitors, more board and card games. I mentioned some newer board games such as Quacks of Quedlinburg, Cosmic Encounter, Mojumi, Tiny Towns and Survive - Escape From Atlantis and that by expanding the gaming room it would bring in more attendees to the convention. There are lots of people who spend the majority of the con in the gaming area.
As former gaming room staff: If you want certain things in the gaming room, bring 'em yourself.
Just make sure you label what's yours. Game boxes, controllers, systems, monitors. Label everything, twice if you have to. If you have anything small and/or pocketable, stay in the game room.

E: Hoo boy, just read all the drama related to this person. Still good advice to use in general for any newbie thinking they can "better the game room"; either you can't, or you didn't bring what's needed.

This is good advice for pretty much any role at any type of fandom con. Bring it yourself, if the org tries to 'get it for you' it will be fucked up.

New COVID reqs for BLFC just dropped. [T] [A]
TL;DR: You will need an additional booster to attend the con

The reactions aren't as mixed as I thought they'd be with the majority of the comments decrying the new requirement.

Even furries are pushing back on this shit, it's really half and half. I am shocked too. Half a year or more ago I don't think you would have been seeing this many of them openly against such a policy.

I find this hilarious since Furry Weekend Atlanta came to a consensus last month to nix mandatory vaccinations and testing to attend and are not yet declaring mandatory masks, either. And FWA is slated to take place in two weekends from now.

Dunno why BLFC are being such holdouts when it's clear how unnecessary it is three years on. Nice to see there's malcontents, at least.

This is just the terminally online parts of the fandom too! According to this weird covid furs group TFF (Texas Furry Fiesta) saw a large increase in attendance after they dumped vax requirements while only "enforcing" masks in con areas. It's true, though, 2023 was their biggest year making them the 3rd largest con.

I honestly find the people complaining about it on Twitter to be more amusing. Some cons have had to nix policies for a variety of reasons, including government. It's funny as fuck to me that people who went through a full vax schedule in childhood are upset about being asked to pick up an additional booster for an event they don't HAVE to attend.

Nigga if you're health is THAT bad then why the fuck are you attending a fur con of all places? Furry conventions are literally one giant autistic petri dish.
That's exactly it, furcons are where people go to destroy their immune systems. It is perhaps the best opportunity a severe autist can have to catch aids, and this is accepted as such a given within the community that their standards for "health safety" will always be egregiously beyond the pale of what any healthy individual would ever consider to be sane.

I think a lot of the insanity comes from the fact most of society has moved on from Covid polices and at worst treating it like most people treat the Flu i.e. wash your hands, cover your mouth when you cough, sanatize. While Furriers treat this as some death plague. If this was true you would hear that TFF was some mass causality event with thousands of new cases.

In reality most Furriers that where going to cons while covid was still a "problem" most likely have an adequate amount of vaccinations. The ones that don't will probably have a higher chance to catch random STD's from licking random railings.

It's funny you say that because I remember there was a tumblr drama in I think 2014 or 2015 or possibly earlier where people were spreading AIDS to other furries (probably on purpose) and people were begging each other to get tested after the con because they had an orgy. There was literally a chart on who fucked who to try to narrow down who was spreading it

That's the furry-factor combined with modern social media retardedness. People are compelled to reply, whine and outrage over pretty much anything - even if it was clear that they'll never attend the event anyway. It's all about being heard as part of the mob - topic's almost irrelevant.

Ah yes, the infamous HIVFur chart. Patient zero actually turned up here to try and defend himself. Naturally since the links are just fursuits and usernames the chart, despite perhaps being well researched, is ultimately useless.

I remember about a year or so that there was an incident of some furry convention where a couple of degens started to have sex on the con center stairway.
I'am not doubting their capability to do so but i want to know if it actually happened or if i imagined it.
This happens with such [un]surprising frequency that you really have to specify WHICH con or what kind of timeline in order to pinpoint it.

FWA is the most prominent example, but I'm pretty sure we've gotten similar at MFF, TFF, FC, etc.

"Do you have the slightest idea how little it narrows it down?"
I remember it being some faggos who used masks like these:

It's insane but it not like they are going to send con staff walking up and down flights of stairs in the middle of the night.
