I really liked this video but i found it weird how he mentions the film being the best out of the soulless cashgrab remakes, but he never really said why that's the case.

He did mention that if it wasn't an actual remake of the animated film, it would've been decent. Which is probably true for most of these remakes, let's be fair. If Disney had just adapted the actual fairy tales proper instead of remaking their filmography, they might not get as much ire as they do, but they most likely wouldn't have exactly stood out and would end up forgotten. It's like they want to go the route of Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland every time but chicken out at the last minute, and say what you will about that movie, it's its own thing and has a style that makes it stand out from previous adaptations.

I wish they'd have the balls to give the Little Mermaid its proper, written ending instead of giving it a happy one. (Actually, the written version of the story IS a happy one, because all the little mermaid wanted was a human soul. She was told she had to marry a human to get it, but when that fell through, she was given a chance to get one via some weird afterlife Community Service. But today's kids wouldn't understand an ending as esoteric as that one.)

That threw me off, considering the Cinderella remake is right there and is easily the least woke, least reliant on CGI, and most aesthetically pleasing of the remakes. It's the only one in the lineup with at least some modicum of heart and passion behind it and by that virtue is the best of them.
