The fact that Nick confirmed the leaked texts were real is so stupid. He should have denied. I mean, the texts were first leaked to RPGTV, who posted them first, then Milo claimed they were real. At that point, even I had doubts they were real since some of the shit in there seemed insane. Denying the texts were real would have been the smart move. Instead, he does the worst move possible, confirming they are real, while not leaking his own texts to help exonerate himself. Probably a lot of it, from Nick’s perspective. IDK. I run a business, not a political one but yeah. I’ve learned that, if you have a vision for how you want things to go, you need to be very specific about what you want. “I didn’t know that’s what you wanted.” Wish I had a dollar for every time I heard that! And details you assume are common sense, often aren’t.
Nick’s problem is he ultimately didn’t fire Simon because, despite his apparent incompetence, Nick saw Simon as loyal and kissed his ass, which is the main thing Nick cares about (ego and flattery), competence and efficiency is secondary to that. If that’s how you run things, then you’re gonna continue to be disappointed by the outcome of their work.
