I mean, even if they could sustain a weeks long attack of huge volume with a shitton of IPs, what happens? They blow their nut (metaphorical, of course, for the one's who've already gotten the chop), then the site comes back up and things are fine.

These attacks aren't attacks in the physical sense. They're not actually damaging.

The most "damage" it does is take it offline temporarily, and people are less likely to donate money to a site that isn't running.
