Alright so for all I know I might legitimately be aspie but does anyone else get annoyed when true crime channels take like five minutes of the video to insult the criminals? It’s like, no shit, was I supposed to infer that you agreed with them or their actions if you don’t explicitly state that you hope they burn in hell and a bunch of ad hominems?

For me it depends on the channel. JCS is very clinical so it's offputting whenever the narrator swears or makes jabs. That Chapter is more casual so poking fun feels more natural, and he doesn't dwell on it.

So on the topic of trigger warnings, I saw a video title the other day making the argument that trigger warnings were spoilers, I was going to find and post that video; instead I found something better. A psychology/mental health channel put out a video that talked about trigger warnings and instead of just telling us his personal opinions of tw, he looked up actual studies:
The tldw of the video, trigger warnings are counter productive, the fact they are given before a showing of a film or a picture actually raises the anxiety levels of the viewer more than just seeing the content without the warnings. Not only that but another study found that trigger warnings are counter productive for people with ptsd because it caused people to fear the content without seeing the content that in the end might not have been nearly as anxiety inducing without the warnings. Another said that people would ptsd who took trigger warnings to heart and avoided the subjects were actively harming the process of healing from their trauma.
Those who thought trigger warnings had more value showed more anxiety after being given the tw, people who didn't care about tw had no anxiety.
So it's as we've thought, they are useless and stupid.

I have gone to multiple conferences where I was informed the word trigger warning was too triggeirng for people. I don't even try to understand that shit anymore when professional agencies are stating stuff like that.

True crime people have a reputation for being fucked up obsessive freaks, add that to many youtubers who have been exposed as being fucked up freaks in some way or another, just sounds like they are trying to cover their asses especially as youtube really doesnt filter videos so these vids could pop up in innocuous searches (funnily enough thats how I found plagued moth initially).

Definitely. Here's an absolutely disgusting video about one of the world's most prolific and terrifying serial killers, Luis Garavito. Takes a lot to make me truly disturbed, but this video really stuck with me. Only problem is that the guy that runs the channel dedicates way too much time being a tough guy cringelord by berating the killers in his videos.

Depending on who's in charge of them, they can also become a form of title gore. For instance if there's some Will Ferrel comedy where he bumps into some lady and his hand touches her ass as a gag, you could ostensibly end up with "DEPICTIONS OF SEXUAL ASSAULT", and now some people are gonna take that to heart and avoid the movie.

That reminds me of this one semi-zoomer horror game i played while drunk with the lads to make fun of it, my interest was peaked when i saw a laundry list of warnings, when the fanbase seemed immature as fuck.
Among them was "Sexual Assault". When i played it, the game didnt seem that edgy, to the point where i had to replay the final "offending" bit to catch something, turns out, the "sexual assault" was an AI character going "please stop" when they were going to be unplugged or some shit.
At that point i had a hearty kek, the expectation was something serious and/or edgy as fuck, but all it turned out to be was a most funny nothingburger
