Are there even dedicated "game design" positions out there? I've seen puzzle games with people credited solely for designing puzzles, but my impression of general game design is that those people are pulling double duty in technical or leadership positions. We've all seen Chibi's lack of coding aptitude, and he's even less fit to be a producer or director. I genuinely can't envision what it is he's planning on doing with his degree. "Game designer" on its own seems like a professional ideas guy.

I recently went to a talk about game design given by an actual game designer who worked for sega and does mobile games and the dude flat out said that you need to know about EVERYTHING if you want to get the game out.

You need to learn to code, package it, graphic design, about sales and marketing too... And you need to be a little bit autistic too.

Adam is a fucking idiot. He can't even make one game for those dev jams. I theorize he really doesnt want to make games, he thinks is cool and that's it.

Nowadays he could make a game in 24 hours with stolen or bought assets and code, fire up Unity and copy paste script and put it on Steam and done, you are a game dev.

However he never even attempted to do that. Not even modding a game or anything. He is content at 31 to keep spending money on a scam school and "waiting for the future" like a teenager.

There's tons of open source and fair use 3D assets available. Fuck man, the porn community on Blender and SFM have made better quality animations than some of the game devs. There was that one Life is Strange animator that made that softcore lesbian movie that went viral on pornhub that fans were lauding was pretty much lore accurate. The girl from Bioshock infinite that led to technological breakthrough in open source animation over ripping models from games.

I can’t speak for American scam degrees but over here we have private schools that offer game design courses with “degrees” (those being glorified certificates). They pretty much shower you in good grades and it’s near impossible to fail classes.

It must be part of their business model, feigning quality by advertising with their high graduation rates etc

Yes, it's phones currently.
