I've got a strong suspicion that we will see literally all of this blamed on housing/property prices distorting the market, which in of itself will be blamed on the Boomers fetishistic level of obsession with retirement - Specifically, retiring rich with nobody to support you, making them treat every aspect of their life as an investment, including the home - And housing was particularly easy to crank up with simple legislation and political influence as they realized it. The ensuing collapse as housing prices prove wildly unjustified in the coming period of population decline, which just so happens to start getting serious 5-10 years after the boomers start selling off at the peak of the market to retire, will just cement it in.

They'll brush all of it under that mantle, and excuse government and societal decay entirely - Painting it as greed is probably going to help them in the long run. Much like most history, there will be the easy and wrong explanation most people think is true.
