When possible, every trick in the book is used to make them appear passable, in the exact same way fat women pretend they aren't landwhales. Angles, lighting, high levels of makeup and contour, posing, filters, and after effects added to images to make you think, yeah, this looks reasonable. In this day and age we all know what kind of magic can be done to make someone look completely different than real life. It's a mistake to try to gauge someone as unclockable or passable based on how they have chosen to show themselves under controlled scenarios. Hell, just look at the first few pages of the Blaire White thread to see all the people talking about how "she" actually looks really good, and looks like a woman, and is one of the good trannies who pass so well. Then come back and look at a candid image, and realize just how poorly ALL trannies pass in real life.

Reminder folks, trannies in the wild do not look like their pictures.

Weight/Metabolism and HRT?
I’m someone who would like to lose some weight while I’m transitioning on HRT. I’ve run into some people very successfully losing weight during this process, but a lot of folks seem to be doing pretty aggressive dieting and/or medication to do that.

I’m someone who’s done weight watchers for about 15 years and lost over a hundred pounds with it. With that said, the first week of HRT, I lost like 7 pounds and found it really easy to be more mindful of my eating. As I enter my third week, the weight’s pretty much all back on, which made me wonder about the concept of transitioning actually slowing your metabolism. (In WW, women are given fewer points than men, even if they weigh the same amount, because supposedly their metabolic rate is slower? Now WW leaders have said this doesn’t apply to trans women, but the person who told me this also admitted she didn’t know anything about the bio-chemistry of HRT.)

I was just curious what other people’s weight/metabolism experience has been who are NOT adding aggressive, liquid-only, and/or drug-assisted weight loss regimens on top of their HRT. (Obviously, those will get results, but, as someone who’s literally been on some sort of eating plan—including intense ones like liquid-only diets—since I was 5 years old, I’m frankly too exhausted to do more than I’m already doing.)

Any personal insight would be helpful. Any scientific research on trans female metabolic changes would also be super useful!

Yeah I would say someone with true rapidly worsening cognitive impairment would probably not be hunched over Pubmed and Wikipedia dredging up technical terminology for their increasingly frequent brain farts.

I checked back and no physicians weighed in. When someone goes to that particular forum with actually medically interesting issues it gets jumped on pretty quick. They've solved some real puzzlers, pointed people in the right direction for irl followup. A med student suggested "functional neurological disorder" which is the Current Year term for neuresthenia/hysteria/somatoform disorder. And a couple laymen suggested long covid.
