Wasn't there a push for bodycams to be worn by police a few years back? When the police implemented bodycams in certain districts, didn't the same people who wanted police to wear bodycams claim racism or just pretended the event never happened because when the footage was released it showed that the police did nothing wrong in the situation?

Also, the police can turn off bodycams whenever they feel like it. Can't record them while they are using the bathroom, victims of a crime can request to have the cameras turned off to make them feel more comfortable or even having a private conversation that they don't want others to know about(Family matters, financial, medical or just complaining about a superior). Can't force anyone to strap a camera to themselves and expect them to record the entire shift
