Out of ignorance, what was bad about Oaxis? The rants I saw from back then were all from YouTubers complaining about “muh christian propaganda”, but I didn’t see much about why it was actually bad.

mostly the fact that not only did it never deliver, but it also hid the fact that it was specifically Christian-focused until the very last minute, instead focusing on how Hartman "made your childhood" and that's why you should donate to him

Through to be honest I don't know what fans were expecting since Hartman is very open about his faith.

Through to be honest the people I saw shitting on Hartman at the time were the liberal shithead atheists. Not saying Hartman is completely innocent there. But let's not act like the people calling him out were in good faith since said critiques tend to praise a lot of cartoon creators who promote their political agenda.

A lot of the callouts weren't in good faith, I'll agree on that, but they had a point in that the false advertising and constant ego-tripping was pretty scummy. Pretty sure that if Hartman had at least mentioned the service's faith ahead of time they'd have no leg to stand on.

Anyways as much as I hate justifying the complain about wokeshit subtitle. The Wikipedia page for Disney's recess is so fucking pozzed. The shows overview alone is full of comparing finster and the principal to conservative views and authoritative control or acts of espionage during the cold war.


Isn't the basic jist of recess; it's a show about a group of grade schoolers and an homage to the movie the great escape? With bits of cool hand luke, and other classic prison movies?


And if you're wondering why I was looking the show it's because there's a surprising amount of episodes uploaded to YouTube...from the wild west days amd they still haven't gotten copyrighted by the mouse surprisingly. Though a few did get coppaed so take what you can get i guess, enjoy.

I agree. I didn't say Hartman was completely honest either. He definitely mislead on his part.

Sure Butch did some shifty things regarding Oaxis and trying to start his own streaming service and he's a shell of his old self. I can at least believe he found jesus and is a man of god now before I believe Chris savino is. And yes I know judge not less ye be judged. But remember a liar and cheat is one thing but trust and forgiveness can be earned.

Being a sexual deviant? and violating someone? Big world of difference and it's gonna take a lot more than a baptism and anointment with oil and your word before I believe you truly have changed.

It's been mentioned in this thread how similar Amphibia and Owl house endings were but lately I've been noticing more and more similarities with other shows as well.

Amphibia and The Ghost and Molly McGee both having Thai protags and Thai culture eps. (The former more than the later despite it being and isekai).

Moon girl and TGaMM both having jewish best friends and Bar Mitzvah eps.

I think having easter eggs or jokes between show is cool but this just feels like script recycling.


On a separate note I checked out moon girl after I saw Rebel Taxi talk about it and its alright. Best part of it is the art style and the music battle sequences. It kinda reminds me of Class of 3000.

Also had the most awkward way of introducing character's pronouns and just shoves it in your face that yes we got a they/them here.

I think its a bit of a copout to call it political sperging when these are legitimate reasons that have led to the constantly dimishing quality in western animation.

There's a reason we haven't gotten a second "last airbender" in literally 20 years.

Most creators today aren't intresting in creating worlds and escapism, they're more intresting in soapboxing. Studios that once gave us wally are now producing things like turning red.

Don't you think its depressing that western animation peaked nearly 2 decades ago?
