Goodbye Volcano High - "The Future of Gaming", The Parody Game of the Beloved Snoot Game Franchise

Apologies if this is question has already been answered but: how are they getting funding? Is Sony still just burning money with this or I think it's a Canadian studio so they could be living off of tax incentives and bullshit (which is the same reason why someone like Dennis Dyack still somehow is in the business)?
You and your Canadians.

I´ve searched up their website and only found out where the studio might be because a dev included their location. So they´re probably canadians that are leeching off the media fund.

They are in fact taking advantage of Quebec's "Hollywood of Games" initiative or whatever it's called. Something like 35% or 40% of their salary costs (may include contracting costs, not sure) are paid for by the Canadian government as long as they are headquartered there and employ people from there. The rest probably comes from Sony and maybe some other government/private grants.

Seeing how it's multiplatform now and Sony hasn't even recognized it's existance since that first showing, I doubt it quite a bit. Even if the retarded gaijin of California now control where sony money goes, even their mind virus couldn't justify dumping money on a non exclusive 5 hour visual novel.

Let's say Sony gave them a million dollars for example. They seem to have a small team of maybe a dozen people at best. Then you factor in the tax credits and that million dollars could go pretty far. They probably got additional funding in recent but I doubt we'll figure out where that money came from.

So 2023 and this shit still hasnt launched? and the wokepedia article says nothing about the kiddie porn scandal, shocker...

Sounds like they are delaying it on purpose so they can keep milking the canucks for free money, after all where are these faggots gonna get a job making a piece of shit like this? vidya industry standards are at an all-time low but still not nearly low enough for this shit

A million dollars could go pretty far if they were budgeting hard, but they aren't. I've covered this in earlier posts, but 10-12 people + 3-5 contractors at 80k/year (co-operative status ensures they are all paid the same) for 2023-2024 alone is already over a million dollars, then there's a similar number of full timers and more contractors at 55k/year which is around what they were paying for 2018-2022. GVH has cost more than 5 million dollars just in salary/contracting costs, factor in operating costs, office space, etc and it's even more. Even if half of that is paid for by the government, it's still a ton of money that has to come from somewhere, and it sure as hell isn't revenue.

Of fucking course they're scamming the government for funds. At least it's only Canada funding them, Quebec won't give you a dime unless you primarily work in frog to produce frog content.

Sony featured GVH on a recent state of the play.

My guess is nepotism. Someone from the dev team is sucking a high ranking sony exec right now.

Holy fuck, really? OK, in that case, it's standard tranny incest in play. I am unable to understand how a Japanese company branch gets so absolutely abandoned to let in the hands of some faggots in California.

This is why people celebrated Elden Ringu winning over God of War Ragnarok.

I seriously wonder why doesn´t California make David Cage movie games that have multiple branching paths and different endings like Detroit did. It´s probably too much work doing multiple branches

The demo for I wani hug that gater by the snoot game developers just launched on steam
you can also play it without the need for steam.

Win/Mac/Linux - https://hugthegator.xyz/download.html

EDIT: Just played it. It's not so much Snoot 2 Electric Boogaloo, which is a good thing. The human isn't socially awkward, has a more optimistic approach to things, actually WANTS friends, and has parents he lives with. The theme this time is art/photography/fashion focused rather than music focused like Snoot game was. Also the principle is a dinosaur this time around (but the gym teacher is a monkey). Also there's actual animation this time around that pretty much OBLITERATES the stiff movement of GVH because like everything else, there's actual fucking effort put into this. Looks like it could be rotoscoped maybe? (at least at certain points)

Just finished the I Wani Hug That Gator! Demo. Went in not expecting a whole lot and came out pretty surprised. Took me two hours for just one set of dialogue choices, had some nice moments of animation, pretty lively character sprites and choreography, a lot of the jokes - as stupid as some of them were - at least elicited a smile. Outside of a couple of typos and potential minor inconsistencies I didn't see anything wrong with it (although considering it's Ren'Py, technical issues are probably not particularly common). It doesn't feel like a retread of Snoot Game in the slightest, and it's pretty much entirely different from a narrative perspective outside of the "human male in a dinosaur school" part, with a bunch of worldbuilding and setting stuff stacked on top.

Contrasted with GVH... yeah.

According to the founder/top guy of Cavemanon (the nerd), no rotoscoping was used.

Noooo Caveanon! Stop clowning on the retarded Canadians, they will have to push back the game another 5 years to compete or neck themselves at this rate!

Haven't played the demo but will give it a go for sure.
Heavily heavily recommend it to you. It's nearly 3 hours long for a fucking demo. The animation is great, music is great as well. The demo is nearly the same length that Snoot Game was, and it's just a demo. I am stupidly hyped for a full release for this game now. It's not even fair to compare it to Volcano High, since I didn't need a fucking controller to play the same on PC.

Started the demo a few hours ago and holy crap it is such an improvement from Snoot game. Really liking all the characters and the plot with Olivia is interesting, all the others characters are very charming too (coach being my favorite so far).
I still can't wrap around my head that in the time that these devs have taken to release their game a bunch of anons have already make a parody of it and a spiritual sequel that looks better than the original that is still not out. :story:

Any idea on if anon will release an android compatible demo? Ideally I'd just want to play it on my phone instead of desktop or the deck.
