Since it was a major retail holiday yesterday, cornstach americans bought up all the crab legs we had (with either EBT or suspiciously giant wads of money) we had in stock. That and a fuckton of shrimp, scallops, salmon, lobster tails...
Why do niggers like seafood so much? Is it literally just because "das expensive," so their ghetto asses think Red Lobster is fine dining to them?
Probably, considering how many of them refuse to learn how to swim for cultural reasons.
It's been said before that a lot of "black" food in the us is just southern food, particularly louisiana-french-style food, where fried meat and seafood would have been common fare. It's safe to say that they have a cargo-cult mentality toward food culture and preparation.
I think it is mostly what teriyakiburns said.
Mind that most Blacks may not have lived on the coast, but they did live on RIVERS, or in swamps, or in areas where that kind of food could be imported. When you think Southern seafood, you think of things like fried catfish, you can literally farm catfish by just stocking a pond and chucking corn and shit in it. Blacks were heavily concentrated in the Mississippi River Valley (catfish), Louisiana (coastal), the Lowcountry of Georgia and South Carolina (coastal).
Then, once a culture gets an idea that they eat something, it takes on a life of its own. Like, cultural behaviors are usually rooted in some geographical reason, there's a purpose to what they do, but it also has an inertia to it. It's like those Englishmen that would move off all around the world to colonies and still try to eat an English breakfast instead of the local food. So I'd say that it does come from being a river and coast people, but they also consciously eat their own people's food because it is their own people's food.
The reason I understand most of them don't swim is because with inner city ones they never get the chance to. And again, especially with Blacks moreso than other people, they have a self-defeating attitude that if Black people don't do a thing, they shouldn't do it. I remember going on a school trip once where over half the people there were Blacks from some inner city schools. There were canoes, and all the Whites went out and tried the canoes whether they knew how to or not. The Blacks mostly stood around on the shore and uncomfortably and sullenly mulled around. Funny enough, I happened to wind up in a canoe with a Black guy and his sister and they spent the whole time thinking they were about to die.
Black food isn't really any different from Southern food other than that you might say it's poor Southern food, they had to eat more cornmeal and livers and chitterlings and such, but poor Whites did too. But Southern food is basically based Indian and African crops with European animals and baking techniques thrown in. Indians barbecued, Africans and Scots breaded and fried, British gravies. Indians brought the corn, they had their own version of cornbread and grits and hominy come from them, and beans. Africans had rice, sweet potatoes, peanuts. It's a culinary tradition that couldn't have evolved anywhere else.
Edit: Like, I don't know if there's a stereotype that Blacks don't fish, but in the rural Deep South I see them fishing, riding ATVs, carrying on doing cracker shit all the time. I'd think they must swim too, even if it's in creeks and lakes. I think it did a lot of long-term harm to Black culture when they left the rural South.
