Why are most people too lazy to use tor to shitpost on kiwifarms

I'm surprised it's this many. Most people, me included, get annoyed and scared off by much smaller changes. It's hard enough to keep following topics and people who have been banned from Youtube or Twitter and had to move elsewhere, let alone a site that's been practically banned from clearnet. The 400-900 exceptional individuals I keep seeing here have showed some serious dedication. There are farmers trying to figure out Tor and crypto for the first time in their lives just for this purpose.

literal drooling retard like me can figure out the tor browser. hell i even figured out how to do it before there was such thing as tor browser. it really is the easiest thing to do.
as for speed, it can be slow but if you keep trying connections you can find some decently fast ones. right now the speed is fine for me.
because its giving up. we shouldnt be forced onto the darknet with the fucking pedo and drug dealing sites.
i feel you, i hate having to use the same methods as the chomos, druggies, and human traffickers.tor would actually be pretty cool if it werent for the chomos.

I use Brave browser on PC and had saved the onion-link from the last time the farms were Tor-only. But I would have been back earlier had I known about the http vs. https issue. My bookmarked linked didn't use the secure version, so I just assumed Kiwifarms on Tor was either too slow to use or down again.

I can't read Josh's Telegram feed, but I'm glad there's and RSS-feed that I need to check more often.

I did have to re-download a Tor browser on my phone, but I feel that's using an even more unreasonable amount of data than Kiwifarms usually does on mobile. What's constantly eating data, is it the chat? Can it be disabled somehow without messing with the rest of the site's functionality?

"You can use tor browser instead"
"We fear change"
*smash*

I am here, but mostly back to lurking. I have browsed here for years without an account, it's not much of an issue for me, and I can't be bothered to log in again every time manually.

Clearnet has an extra convenience factor in that regard I think. And I am sure many people are kind of scared of TOR.

You always hear horror stories about it on YT and mainstream media, and most people are probably a bit on their guard.

I personally don't know shit about it and blindly trust that I am safe browsing the farms, and the farms only, after downloading the browser. Which is probably pretty optimistic. I don't care to learn how to protect myself to be able to shitpost either. I am here to relax, not become a network expert.

  1. it's slower than the clearweb
  2. TOR browser doesn't save cache so you have to log back in again every time you close the broweser
  3. onion links are long as shit and people don't remember them
  4. a lot of people are sketched out by the fact that your ISP can see that you're using tor and don't want to create suspicions around themselves
  5. it's fucking slow and images everything takes forever to load
  6. did I mention that it's slow yet?

1. cant argue against this one.
2. i have mine set up so i dont have to log in each time. what is with zoomers not understanding how to change the options in applications?
3.why do people think they need to remember long links? you can just bookmark the kiwi farms address.
4.most isp wont really care, but if you feel that way use a vpn. even if you dont care about that just use a vpn. why do so many farmers still have difficulty using a vpn?
5. it can be slow, but there are fast circuits. if it is very slow just keep connecting to new circuits till you get a fast one.,
6. did i mention changing connections?
