Why are most people too lazy to use tor to shitpost on kiwifarms

  1. it's slower than the clearweb
  2. TOR browser doesn't save cache so you have to log back in again every time you close the broweser
  3. onion links are long as shit and people don't remember them
  4. a lot of people are sketched out by the fact that your ISP can see that you're using tor and don't want to create suspicions around themselves
  5. it's fucking slow and images everything takes forever to load
  6. did I mention that it's slow yet?

I find that sometimes it runs like butter. Then all of the sudden it's like I'm using the internet back in 1997 again.

You don't need to remember the link. Bookmark it. Paste it into notepad. Write it down ect... If people are too lazy to do that then I don't know what to tell them.

I'm used to typing in the first few letters of something and then getting the whole url automatically. But sometimes you have to de-lazy yourself. It's annoying. But as long as you save the address anyway it's as easy as copy/paste. I know boomers and zoomers can't computer like that. But the rest of us should be fine.

So it will filter out the people who can't manually enter (or copy-paste) stuff into their browser's password settings and don't remember dial-up. Not like we need too many of them.

Because most people today use apps, not web browsers to see content.

Today’s culture is still revolved around web2 tech, so most people will be too dumb to even migrate outside their safespace spyware.
I doubt most zoomers even use Kiwifarms to begin with.

I think there're a lot of people who don't follow the Telegram or MATI. If I hadn't been, I don't think I'd know why the site went down and I'd be sad/confused for a few weeks.

You also gotta remember that a sizable portion of this website's traffic is the Beauty Parlor aaaaand given the demographics, most of their technical know-how is going to be relegated to apps. You think a gaggle of overweight white women (the ones who'd be just as satisfied with FB groups, subreddits, and YT comment sections) are going to bother with something like Tor?

You always hear horror stories about it on YT and mainstream media, and most people are probably a bit on their guard.
Yeah and you also hear horror stories about here. You should take the horror stories about tor just as seriously.

There is a nice page explaining what's going on and how to use TOR when you go to our clearnet link.
Oh, I wasn't aware. I've been on Tor the whole time. People have no excuse then. YouTubers have sensationalized it so it scares people (which the alphabets must love) but are never told the benefits of privacy. It's always one sided.

SomeOrdinaryGamers was pretty positive about it. His Deep Web Browsing series was just finding weird stuff. Everytime he came across hitmen or red rooms, he pointed out it was definitely fake. Then went back to silly stuff.

I love that series. He's the only guy I can think of who showed the deep web for what it is. The majority of YTers making spooky content know of Tor through screenshots and Wikipedia pages, and it's obvious. They, unfortunately, make up most of the public opinion on the deep web. The more mysterious it is, the more potent the creep factor.

You can find some nasty stuff but you must actively look for it. If you install the browser and click the link that Null provided you will only find the good old Farms.

I'm surprised. The mobile tor browser is basically Firefox. I just bookmarked the onion main page. It's really no harder than any other browser app. I wonder if people don't realize how incredibly easy it is - people can make it sound like it's complex and scary instead of "Firefox variation".
