At this point the one where you really have to be looking for the scars is a breath of fresh air. I couldn't give less of a shit what you headcanon characters as as long as you aren't obnoxiously shoving the tranny bullshit down my throat, and if you hadn't pointed this one out, I probably wouldn't have noticed.
The "art community" as they call it is full of freaks who hate criticism, though I can't say if it were always like this or if it got co-opted at some point.
Hobbiest artists have always struggled with criticism. You don't see professionals making fetish porn fanart on their mains with their names attached (well, unless they're a professional porn artist I guess). It's just easier to find their stuff now with social media and the feedback loop of asspats. An actual serious artist will seek out critique to improve, even if their technical skill is just beginner level at the moment.
I forgot to mention that by "art community" I meant outsider art and the kind of stuff you normally see on the internet, not high art.
I'm not talking about high art either, but you can tell the difference between someone who is serious vs someone who is terminally online looking for asspats.
Yeah, the ones that makes the good, high-effort art rightfully take themselves seriously, but the ones that make bad art either know they suck and develop a shitposter mentality or think their shit doesn't stink and yell at anyone who says it does. And then the latter all flock together and asspat each other unless they see something that conflicts with their own narrow-minded views of what should and shouldn't be allowed in art?
Jesus Christ whatever happened to just drawing pretty fan art instead of sexualising its characters? I get that Link has always probably been a goldmine for trans art since of his more feminine appearance but why take it this far? I long for the days when Fan art was just fun kids emulating their fav characters or even just talented artists trying to replicate the beautiful concept art for these games. Even when BOTW came out this wasn't as big a thing, sad that the bar has been dropped this low.
It's the same with fanfiction. It's gotten increasingly political/commercialized in the past few years, what with the huge growth in RPF (real person fiction, like the girls masturbating to Dream and Jerma) and the growth of pooner porn. Most authors and artists kept their politics mute, or at least made it so it didn't feel like a lecture. Now all they have is bad porn, and the SFM/Bara artists are the ones keeping the peace. Imagine that.
someone found out that troons boob surgery gives them almost the same scaring as top surgery.
Looking forward to the transman vs transwoman battle over who gets to use the boob scars to feel validated in drawings.
I really hate how this person uses desaturated colors heavily and doesn't bother to add some lightning and shading. The artworks look like a WIP.
