More of the same, albeit with a bit more impartiality. I still love that Labelle still receives abuse from "transphobic cisgay men". Why not just "gay men"? Gotta throw in that stab there, dontcha?
And yes, the article was locked until... early July I think.
Labelle has said that while working with transgender children, she "noticed how negative everything we tell them about their own body is, so I wanted to create a character that could respond to all those horrible things trans kids hear all the time.
As a result of her webcomic she has received criticism and abuse from men’s rights activists, trans exclusionary radical feminists (TERFs), and transphobic cis gay people.[2] she has also received criticism from other trans people saying the comic is harmful and against their core beliefs[9]
The Wikipedia article is still shit. Less shit is still shit.
But first something neutral:
That has been figured out here long ago, Stephie's a mouthpiece, and it's aimed at the trans who get "shit (questions & comments) from cis people". But the problem is that the situations depicted in the comic seem... impossible to happen in real life. Trans people corroborated this is true. So, she's aiming at a very small subset of a very small subset of the population. And, if you want to tell people that some questions are stupid, at the very least don't use a strawman to do it. And guilt tripping people.
But, there are no stupid questions, now are there?
Anyways, there's still too many shit passages like
1: It doesn't explain WHAT the criticism is
2: Emotional appeal by saying the criticism comes from these groups, groups who a lot of people have some opposition to.
Who is this Funcrunch by the way?

What defines a woman is feeling that you belong to the feminine gender, period.
The problem in our society, is that when we are trans, if you want to be recognized as the gender you really are (and it doesn't always work), you need to conform to stereotypes.
People, we're fighting about whether or not transfolks should tell people they're trans before they sleep with them, when the reality is that this is a nonsense argument. LaBelle is not a rapist, because her story never fucking happened and never could.
I've got a little experience here, so let me spoil your fantasy:
Medical science, particularly with regards to transitioning, has only come so far. There is no universe where a surgically created vagina feels or even particularly resembles a naturally occurring one. A post-op MTF is going to look a lot like a post-op MTF. Even the ones that pass amazingly are not going to be indistinguishable from a cis girl, particularly downstairs.
Life is not a hentai. Stories about "passing so well that cis guys can't tell, even in bed" remain firmly in the realm of fiction. It's not a "oh you can tell if you really look closely", it's a "yep, they absolutely weren't born with that".
Unless Labelle is drugging her dates beyond the point where they can see or feel anything, this is a fabricated story to boost her ego, much like everything else she's ever created.
If you fuck a tranny, you will know the nanosecond the pants disappear. Nobody is getting "stealthed". That's a thing guys say to excuse the fact they like trannies.
To be honest, I think we were all expecting this.
Neat, and many thanks!
So it is this person: https://kiwifarms.net/threads/julie-bernstein-pax-ahimsa-gethen.12534/
Time to educate myself.
Edit: Shouldn't have educated myself, I am now worse for it.
God, another radical feminist who is a fan of The Left Hand of Darkness.
Powerlevelling a little but I had to read that book for a university lecture as part of a module on Science Fiction. From what I remember the planet Gethen has no gender roles because the inhabitants (save for the protagonist who is distinctly male, having come to Gethen from Earth) were literally GENDERLESS. Seriously, the characters have the physical attributes of what we would call men and women but had nothing in their pants so to speak and would grow genitalia during mating season (the protagonist/narrator goes into great detail about this a few times). That meant that almost all tasks performed there were performed by anyone and everyone who was able.
I'm amazed a trans man would want to defend Labele, given how she normal depicts them.
Well I can see why something like that would appeal to third wave feminists.
