Team Fortress 2 Community - A free-to-play dress up game for grownups, gameplay fully automated! Waiting to be mercy killed...

If you still think stacking classes is funny, go play on a community server. If you don't actually wanna play the game and just wanna dick around, go play on a community server.
Everything you listed being what you hate about TF2 is what TF2 is. You're the one who should go to the community servers if you want to play a ruined form of TF2. Better yet, take your sweaty, fun hating ass over to overwatch, as thats basically what you want TF2 to be. None of us think TF2 is in a perfect state, we just know that making another no-fun team shooter where you get kicked for picking spy because its not meta isnt what TF2, or any future games for that matter, should be. You are part of the problem with multiplayer games today, nobody wants to have fun, nobody makes fun games. Every new game is competitive rules and rankings even in casual and you can only play the meta or you get kicked, you got your titty skin and useless spray/dance filled battle pass and battle royal mode, 2 bullets to the foot kills with every gun, skill based matchmaking in casual that ruins the experence for everyone who just wants to have fun and not create a river of g-fuel polluted sweat that floods the whole town. You are a loser who isn't fit to posess the good name of john freeman. Games suck ass now, and I dont want to hear you spew shit out your mouth about how this game should be exactly like all of them.
Once again, take your sweaty ass back to overwatch.

Nothing is stopping you from going friendly, nothing is stopping you from using a meme loadout, nothing is stopping you from lobbying with your friends and doing some goofy shit together. The only difference will be you and your individual play style choice cant ruin the experience for everyone else like its able to now, which I personally think is more than reasonable.
I'm not replying to your essay to avoid shitting up the thread more, but I will say this; yes, your changes would totally fuck everything you listed. No more weird or not 100% effective at all times weapons because if it's not a slight tweak of stock like the tomislav or iron bomber it's useless in comp. No more spy because he just was not balanced for modes smaller than 12v12 (as were all classes and weapons, but spy especially). No more heavy on offense or symmetrical games because he's not mobile enough. Imagine getting kicked because you don't wanna play scout, soldier, demo, or medic. This is the future you want, now don't give me another essay in response

I feel one issue with TF2 in its current state is its sheer age; not even talking from a technical/performance standpoint (though that IS an issue, hence Valve downgrading visuals to accommodate more shitty hat effects and weapon skins) but rather because I feel it's reached what I call "community saturation point". Simply put, it's been around for such a long time that everyone who is still regularly playing it has been doing so for a long time and knows the game inside and out, meaning someone just getting into it (or in my case, trying to get back into it after a long hiatus) faces a massive uphill struggle to stand a chance of not being BTFO every match. Combined with the sheer amount of utterly autistic analysis of the game and the lack of meaningful updates, and you basically have the "Solved Game" phenomenon.

From what I can tell from the comp focused reddit, not even most of the comp players really want to forcibly integrate the base game into their format the way the one poster seems to want to. They don't really try to disguise the fact that they like playing the game in a way that emphasizes the mobility shooter aspect in prioritizing the faster classes like scout, soldier, and demo, and that a lot of the weapon bans and such are because they make that desired style of gameplay less fun. Fast heavy isn't even really a balance issue, being considered worse than the normal team comp even at a midfight, they just don't like it and tailored their format to discourage it accordingly. TF2 comp isn't a game with any money in it so it does make sense that their formats would center more around what's enjoyable to play, but it does also mean that even the comp people for the most part have given up on it resembling the inherently uncompetitive 12v12 base game. It seems odd to want to disrupt the play experience of the vast majority of players to appease a small minority that doesn't even want what you're selling and accepts that they're not playing the base game.

Compare that to TF2 which has a way lower skill floor, focuses on being cartoonish and quirky to the point where you can pretty much turn your character into a furry using official cosmetics, has an autistic subcommunity of people who don't care about gameplay but join servers just to sit idle and spam taunts at others and/or larp, was Valve's breeding ground for lootbox economy trade faggotry, attracts an additional audience of gay zoomers because it technically competes with shitty ADHD zoomer shooters like Overwatch, and I dare you to go into matchmaking and find an OG pre-2011 player still playing this trainwreck of a game.
Late, gay, etc.
It might be because I frequent AS/EU casual servers but, I see a different person with a halo every other day. At minimum once a week. Unlike the Proof of Purchase there isn't a Steam bug that let's you get the halo so these are True and Honest Old Fags™. People still play the game because it's a solid game even with all of the cancer you mentioned.

could write a wall of text about what i think of the game since i still play it but i'll just do some random bullets instead
  • beating someone to death with a sign showing a JPEG of your choice is one of the greatest ideas ever implemented in a video game and fuck anyone who says otherwise
  • deleting the entire team with a random crit is fun and nothing you say will ever convince me otherwise, you will not deny me my dopamine hit. you want to remove random crits in your no fun allowed gamemode that only you and your group of trannies play, sure, idgaf, but let the people who want to have fun actually have fun
  • people who bitch about random spread are noguns faggots that have never shot a real gun in their life and also probably think that real guns have predictable spray patterns like cs:go
  • when i join a casual server i will pick whatever class nobody is playing and have fun with it except sniper because i can't aim. if the rest of the team is stacking scout for recreating the boston revolution or everyone else goes medic for wehrmacht simulator i will gladly join in with them because i like fun
  • nobody cares about the retarded tf2 jewtubers who make 30 minute video essays on why meme sign or wepon bad, they only play on uncletopia or comp and probably touch kids
  • uncletopia is run by a child molester who is probably paying for bot hosts on official servers
  • saying "nigger" in voice or text chat is a crapshoot, sometimes the server goes along with it, sometimes you get a tranny or two that sperg out and call you a racist (making the rest of the server chime in with "racism is based"), or you lost the server lottery and your whole team is trannies who votekick you instantly
  • i almost always top score and i don't even try, no matter what class i play
  • dustbowl is a bad map but it's the most fun bad map in the game
  • do not go to brazil
  • wutville will melt your gpu

  • people who bitch about random spread are noguns faggots that have never shot a real gun in their life and also probably think that real guns have predictable spray patterns like cs:go
The hilarious part is, CS:GO may have spray patterns but it still has random spread, not to mention movement inaccuracy. Far more skill required than shooting in TF2.

Its weird for me seeing profile with pronouns in casual , most of the time I think it is a tranny tho.

I mean, I get compfags. they just want to have fun in a game like everyone else, and everything can be competitive somewhere. I'm not shitting on @John Freeman but compfags in general.

what annoys me is that they think that fun has to be the same for everyone, and by your example not even the comp fags can agree how that "fun" is supposed to look like. even in crap like overwatch, which has a lot less things to mess with for the sake of "balance", it made the game worse than it already was. in a game like tf2 it would turn the game in something that's not really tf2 anymore, so why try to do it in the first place? none of them could ever answer that when asked and after they turned games to shit.

at least tf2 allows you to extensively mod it, so there's nothing keeping anyone from making "his" version of the game and see how it goes. most other games don't even allow that anymore...

My guess is that where we disagree is how much of an effect my proposed changes (or similar changes) would have on the base game and casual community.

you dudes, I got a very funny tf2 pic right here. 8486992.png

Uncle Dane is an autist but everything he had to say about Random crits is 100% right. They don't have a reason to exist in Tf2 as it currently is.
Their reason to exist is so that miguel.fernandez.2010 can send a tryhard demo/medic tranny discord stack straight to Hell, where they belong.

Random crits are fun. That's it.
There's no grandiose balancing reason behind keeping them, no quantifiable data to say this, no objective reason, and thats why the comp side of the community is failing to understand this when all they comprehend is statistics and figures.
There is a legitimate reason they were added.

1. A good player who frequently gets kills or otherwise does their job will fill something called a crit bucket. This amplifies their strong forward momentum by peppering their attacks with pseudorandom bursts of high damage. It feels good to kill lots of people in rapid succession including in video games.
2. If a good player is doing well & working toward an objective then these critical hits will hammer the enemy team harder. This puts more pressure on them & this will either result in the enemy team buckling (advancing the game) or otherwise getting more invested as the difficulty of whatever they are working toward accomplishing dynamically rises or falls. Note the key word dynamic.
3. At the same time critical hits are truly pseudorandom so even a player not doing very well may get some. This makes every engagement a little different because even if you have killed that hopeless gibus-wearing Scout 49 times he might randomly do 190 damage the 50th time and shock you. Note the key word dynamic again.
Combine all of the above & it becomes much easier to understand why people have played cp_dustbowl for nearly 20 years. A game that is totally random will feel unfair but on a macro level slightly randomized elements can make a good game even better. See also games like Fallout (both the isometric & FPS ones) where critical hits accomplish something similar.

The jewtubers who make essays about how "random crits and signs bad" and about how "hurrdurr tf2 should be more competitive" are cunts who are either butthurt about people saying slurs on their precious stream, or want to rake eFame and sponsorship money. Esports are a scourge on gaming, every videogame that gets pimped out as one inevitably becomes a crushing cesspit of toxicity and balance patches that ALWAYS suck the fun out of it. Look what happened to OW and LoL, those games are reviled now even by their own community.

The thing I do not get who the fuck cares , if the devs do not want change their minds since launch about a fun team base shooter why during the no update them they going change their mind just because people are mad of getting killed by luck and not by "skill". I would very happy every game I get one to two shot by nearly every scout , solider , demo , sniper or spy.
You are 100 % right its not comp people its jewubers that do not commit to comp but still want to make a comp scene to make money.
