Driver detained as truck crashes near White House; Nazi flag found - Glowniggers fail again

May 22 (Reuters) - The U.S. Secret Service said it had detained the driver of a rented box truck that crashed into security barriers near the White House on Monday night, perhaps intentionally, but that there were no injuries or ongoing danger.

A Reuters witness said investigators found a Nazi swastika flag that apparently came from inside the truck, which crashed into barriers at Lafayette Square, adjacent to the White House grounds.

Officers retrieved the flag and plastic evidence bags that had been laid out on the sidewalk following the crash and placed them in the back of the U-Haul, a Reuters photographer said.

"Preliminary investigation reveals the driver may have intentionally struck the security barriers at Lafayette Square," Anthony Guglielmi, chief of communications for the Secret Service, said on Twitter.

U.S. Park Police would file charges with investigative support from the Secret Service, he added.

WUSA television showed video of a box-type, U-Haul truck stopped alongside a row of steel bollards, with uniformed law-enforcement officers and a dog approaching the vehicle. A remote-controlled robot pried open the truck's rear door, revealing a dolly but no other obvious cargo.

Chris Zaboji, a witness to the crash, posted a brief video on social media showing the truck driving into the barricades. The video was verified by Reuters. After crashing once, the driver hit the barriers a second time, he sa

Zaboji, 25, an airline pilot who lives in Washington, said he had just finished jogging on the National Mall and was walking home when he heard a loud crash.

"I looked back and saw that the U-Haul van had rammed into the barricade. I backed away behind a guy on a golf cart and took the video on my phone. After I saw it rammed again I didn't want to be anywhere near the truck and left," Zaboji said.

A previous tweet from the Secret Service's Guglielmi said nobody from the White House or Secret Service was injured.

The exact location of President Joe Biden at the time was unclear. He met with Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives Kevin McCarthy at the White House earlier on Monday evening.

The nearby Hay Adams hotel was evacuated at the request of the Secret Service, the Washington Post reported, citing a hotel official, while the Secret Service said some roads and pedestrian walkways around the park were closed.

A spokesperson for the Washington Fire Department said a call came in at 9:40 p.m. (0140 GMT) for what was described as a suspicious package investigation.

Soon there was a major law-enforcement and public safety response, before investigators determined the contents of the mostly empty truck were harmless.

Yes, there's none of the old love the old false flags and provocations had, too obvious and lazy now. Not fit to kiss the hem of one of J Edgar Hoover's dresses.

Missouri man accused of deliberately crashing U-Haul truck into security barrier near White House

WASHINGTON (AP) — A Missouri man flew to Washington, rented a U-Haul truck and drove straight to the White House, where he crashed the truck into a security barrier and began waving around a Nazi flag in the culmination of a six-month plan to “seize power” from the government, authorities said Tuesday.

Sai Varshith Kandula, 19, removed the flag from a backpack shortly after smashing the box truck into the barrier near the north side of Lafayette Square on Monday around 10 p.m., according to charging documents. He was quickly arrested by a U.S. Park Police officer who rushed to the scene of the crash and saw him take out the flag.

Kandula later told Secret Service agents that he’d flown from St. Louis on a one-way ticket that night after months of planning. He wanted to “get to the White House, seize power, and be put in charge of the nation,” and he said he would “kill the president, if that’s what I have to do,” charges state.

Kandula, who is from the St. Louis suburb of Chesterfield, Missouri, said he bought the flag online because he admires the Nazis’ “great history” as well as their “authoritarian nature, eugenics, and their one world order.”

No one was injured in the crash. No explosives or weapons were found in the truck or on Kandula.

Kandula rented the U-Haul in Herndon, Virginia, and had a valid contract in his own name, the company said. People can rent a truck from U-Haul at age 18, and there were no red flags on his rental record that would have prevented the contract, according to U-Haul.

A witness, Chris Zaboji, said the driver smashed into the barrier at least twice. Zaboji, a 25-year-old pilot who lives in Washington, was finishing a run close by Lafayette Square when he heard the loud crash of the U-Haul truck hitting the barrier. He said he took out his phone and captured the moment the truck struck the barrier again before he heard sirens approaching.

“When the van backed up and rammed it again, I decided I wanted to get out of there,” he said.

Officers from the Secret Service and the Metropolitan Police Department searched the truck after the crash. Video posted by WUSA-TV shows a police officer at the scene picking up and inventorying several pieces of evidence from the truck, including a Nazi flag.

Kandula was arrested on multiple charges, and prosecutors charged him with damaging U.S. property.

Biden was briefed on the crash Tuesday morning by the Secret Service and Park Police, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said. “He’s relieved that no one was injured last night,” she said.

The U.S. Secret Service monitors hundreds of people who have made threats to the president, but it’s not clear whether Kandula was on their radar at all or if he had threatened the president before, which would trigger the Secret Service’s involvement.

No attorney was listed for Kandula in court records, multiple telephone numbers listed under his surname in public records were out of service, and efforts by The Associated Press to reach relatives who could speak on his behalf on Tuesday were not immediately successful. People at a Missouri home listed as being associated with Kandula would not speak with an AP reporter.

Lafayette Square offers perhaps the best view of the White House available to the public, and Kandula sent multiple people running when he drove onto the sidewalk to reach the barrier.

The square has also long been one of the nation’s most prominent venues for demonstrations. The park was closed for nearly a year after federal authorities fenced off the area at the height of nationwide protests over policing following the killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis, but it reopened in May 2021.

U-Haul is a moving truck, trailer and self-storage rental company based in Phoenix.

My theory is that they needed to search someone's room without a warrant and this was the excuse to do so. Either thing else is just extra benefit narrative wise.

What makes this even funnier is the not insignificant possibility the feds didn't even do any sort of background check, they simply found this kid online, talked him up, and let him loose without ever once visually confirming his identity. Truly the Ivy League intern's first glow-op :story:

So what you're saying is indians are the lucas werner of races?

Bad hygiene
Shits and pisses in the bushes at times
History of creepy rapey behavior toward young women
Inedible food that stinks up entire apartment buildings
Abject poverty
Frequently dumb as a post and stubborn as a the bastard child of a jehovas witness and a husky
Tries to get the numbers of random women he doesn't know and intends to call them to get a date, entirely unaware of how inappropriate and disturbing this is
Predilection to wanting a pointless PhD and trying to coast through life based on parents and their accomplishments

.....I think you might be on to something here

That said the whole situation sounds off and doesn't make a whole lot of sense at all
Unfair. Food is great, dance scenes in movies A+. Everything else about country absolute cowshit

I know we've all been saying this but it bears repeating. They aren't even trying lol

So this is the result of several months of planning? I know he's only 19 but come on...
Does he have mental issues or schizophrenia? That would make him the ideal tool for the Bureau.

So basically some random Hindu kid buys a swastika, probably not knowing what other non-religious symbolism it has, then crashes his rented truck because he's a shitty driver, spends hours getting threatened by Secret Service goons in a dark room somewhere and finally confesses to being the world's least likely white-supremacist with a world domination scheme so retarded it makes Dr. Evil look like a genius.

Did I miss anything?

Just saw that the DOJ vastly reduced charges, especially in the wake of the revelation that this "white supremacist from Missouri" is actually not from here and don't have the proper credentials.

How I sum this whole story: FBI tries to distract from revelations of its impropriety... by doing MORE impropriety.
Got a source?

Related to the same I'd swear there was a truck crash into a White House security barrier in 2020 after the riots, pretty certain security guards were actually killed. I cannot find any articles anymore on a search.

It was an AI in place of agent smith this time, they hadn't thought to train it about avoiding conflicts of characters vs set dressings/props. It just started sending requisitions all over the place.
