This is indeed the case. At some point during the bunker stream (i.e. where he didn't have control over angles and lighting), he took out his phone, saw how he looked on screen, and got very twitchy and uncomfortable for the rest of the stream.

Also, wasn't he already running for his life? I remember when people wanted to kill me so I went to a public event to meet fans.

Aside from the Princess Tetra from Wind Waker icon he uses, I would say this is one of his most well known avatars. This is what I based the Leafy Kiwiler I made on. Fan art of Leafy often depicts him in the costume, and many, like my Leafler, have him wearing the hood of the costume instead of the OBEY hat.

Given the heavy association of the dinosaur costume with Leafy, and the timing of Lucas's use of it in his streams, seems to me like he's doing it intentionally, but that's just me.
